The GONG network is spread around the globe. The GREEN marks indicate the telescopes that are currently observing and the number is how many minutes since it updated. Choose any green one and click on one of the movie icons. Note: the icon with the projector is a condensed movie loop and the one with the reel is a full minute-by-minute movie (much bigger file).

AR1670 was decaying before it went beyond the limb. I think you're looking at the massive plage region which was remnants of megaspot 1654. I was closely watching that regions return (2 weeks ago) because it was so bright on the EUVI images and when it came over there wasn't much left in the way of spots. Although the plage and loops were enormous, its spots vanished and it went away without a flicker or flare.

I believe you're right Hugh, that would explain the signature.Have you ever been away from something and it feels difficult to readjust? I have no problem with geophysics but heliophysics and solar tech aren't natural to me , so I have to work extra hard. Maybe thats why I love it so much. Thanks for your insight!

Recently a C1.7 and a C2 flare. There was also just an Earth-facing filament liftoff in the north. You night watch folks stay alert for a CME, O.K.?

[link to halpha.nso.edu]

There a fantastic giant solar tornado on the NW limb (at 1 o'clock approx.). I can't do helioviewer so you should go watch the SDO movies...it's quite beautiful.

How could it be moving that fast with no change in size or distance in Behind HI1?

It is a lie. Like most most of mainstream science.

And what is floating to the top right of it. Please don't say Venus. [link to stereo.gsfc.nasa.gov] It is going in the opposite direction with a tail. W.e it is.
