pretty large hit just now

[link to www.swpc.noaa.gov]

I have been watching this one since April and it went out for a few days. Is there a place that has more information on how to reach these charts? Just looking at them makes one feel our magnetic field is strikingly weak and flip flopping around but im sure that's not the case.

Hugh must be akin to a dolphin -- they sleep with one hemisphere of the brain at a time, the other awake : )

Apparently Hugh's not the only one -- I've seen many here who are on top of things, no matter which time of day/night.

Kudos all Sol'dolphins!

1739 again for the M1.4 flare
 Quoting: whiteangel

Is it just me who doesn't read the chart correctly or this list refers to 1734 as having given the M1.4 ?

See link I put in red brackets in whiteangel's quote above, and here again, look at the very bottom of the page, last listing:

EDITO
Ah-ha! The page just updated, now it does list it as coming from 1739. A minute ago it was still saying 1734. All's good : )

Lolol whiteangel : )

It really did show 1734 for a while on that last line of the chart, precisely the M1.4, as I was watching the page auto-update a few times before I decided to post about it.

The flare number was not in the same color as the rest of the prior posted flares though. Perhaps they had put in a tentative region before actually double-checking on it...

ô_0 ...they make mistakes??!?

Meanwhile, I was doing the double-checking with your links, and yours made sense, while their hasty mention of 1734 did not. Hehe : )

AR1739 doesn't look like much, but it's got plenty of spark.

close-up of M1.4 flare:

[link to sdowww.lmsal.com]

1734 on the other hand seems to be fading somewhat, but it's pointed right at Earth. If it gets active soon we could see a much larger event due to its size and location.
