Oh my god.....

I believe that velocity is a false data reading based on spurious SOHO images. In any event, the CME doesn't seem Earth-directed (no halo) . STEREO B sows it going away from Earth. So I call a 'possible glancing blow' with many considerations. We have a large coronal hole, a CME, the 60 W. long. factor, and the aforementioned Solar Sector Boundary Crossing and how they interact, only God really knows. If the Bz is negative we could see a G2 Storm or maybe nothing at all. It was much slower than CACTus says but it may interact with the northern CH-HSSS (coronal hole-HiSpeedStream) or maybe not....we shall see, eh?

Thanks. We shall see. I want this ISWA CME model to update. nothing yet though...
 Quoting: #Geomagnetic_Storm#

I wasn't critiquing you, ya understand, Sol Man. Only rarely do I question the CACTus data; but it's an automated computer system. When an image (or data) is missing, it miscalculates velocity....it's 'robot-stupid' in other words.

I've been observing a lot of raw nature where I am in the hills of Tennessee (named after the Cherokee town TENASI. And it occurred to me that no robot or drone could ever improve on the Creator's gift of LIFE. Yeah, they can build a dragonfly that sees in infared and shoots poison darts at ya; but is that really an IMPROVEMENT on the 'Natural Order'? I think it's not. The transhumanists oughtta get out of San Francisco and check out the real world. It will blow your mind!
Coming from a more or less City/Suburban matrix, a lot of natural wildlife is very new to me. I've seen many species of butterflies, birds, reptiles, a family of deer, many rabbits, lotsa dead skunks, a badass raccoon, about 30 new species of insects and arachnids which I've never encountered before. In Colorado Springs I saw a bear runnin' around Downtown. Nature is an example of resiliency, true diversity and a design which makes life strive to prosper and reproduce.

At times, I've felt telekinetic power in enticing insects and mammals to behave in a respectful way towards me. And, Praise God!, they will obey a pure heart. I'd rather work to CONVINCE NATURE- than to CONQUER IT. The sharks and jellyfish have never bothered me, thank God.
 Quoting: Hugh M Eye

In my opinion, this is what life was intended to be.

What a wonderful transition Hugh ...

That CME is even slower than I thought-

NOAA-24 hr Summary...
Solar activity was at low levels. The largest event of the period, a
C3/1f flare, erupted from Region 1817 (S21W24, Esc/beta) at 14/1655 UTC.
This region was also responsible for the majority of the other low level
C-class flares throughout the period. It continued to exhibit a
horizontal shear line, but also continued to show signs of decay. The
other spot groups were either stable or decaying. SDO imagery observed a
fairly extensive eruptive prominence that lifted off the southwest limb
at approximately 14/2145 UTC. Initial WSA Enlil analysis of Lasco and
STEREO imagery indicates the associated coronal mass ejection (CME) was
slow (~350 km/s) with the majority of the ejecta moving just south of
the ecliptic plane. Further analysis of this CME is ongoing
. No other
Earth-directed CMEs were observed throughout the period.

The C2.9 flare near the leading edge of 1817 looks to be a classic Hyder two-ribbon flare. A Radio Emission Alert was issued which may indicate a CME from this event.

ALERT: Type II Radio Emission
Begin Time: 2013 Aug 15 2217 UTC
Estimated Velocity: 1019 km/s
Description: Type II emissions occur in association with eruptions on the sun and typically indicate a coronal mass ejection is associated with a flare event.

A lot of filaments popping up and it looks like several are rounding the corner, interesting. Looks like we had a farside CME, decent size.

Good evening Hugh and all. Had a weird day , saw some of the lowest clouds I've ever seen , big fluffy cotton balls that seemed only 150 to 200' off the ground, kind of gave me a roof collapsing feel, seemed very strange

edit, guess I should have read before posting, nice catch on the farside event Hugh.

1822 S08E57 153 0030 Dao 07 05 Beta
1823 S07E72 138 0120 Hsx 02 01 Alpha

NOAA 24-hr. Summary (NOTE: the CME they refer to is yesterday's fat filament liftoff)-

Solar Activity

.24 hr Summary...
Solar activity was at low levels. The largest event of the period, a
C2/Sf flare, erupted from Region 1818 (S07W07, Dki/beta) at 15/1756 UTC.
The region continued to exhibit a horizontal shear line and slight areal
growth over the period. The other region of interest, Region 1817
(S21W31, Ekc/beta-gamma-delta) exhibited some intermediate spot decay
but redeveloped intermixed magnetic fields including a weak delta within
the large leader spot. The region was responsible for a C1/Sf at 15/1835
UTC. Two new regions were numbered during the period; Region 1822
(S08E57, Dao/beta) rapidly evolved on the disk and Region 1823 (S07E72,
Hsx/alpha) rotated onto the disk. The remaining spot groups were either
stable or in slight decay. At about 14/2000 UTC, both SDO/AIA 304 and
GONG H-alpha imagery observed a 21 degree long filament eruption
centered near S28W70. At 14/2200 UTC, SOHO/LASCO C2 imagery observed a
slow-moving CME off the SW limb with a majority of the ejecta directed
just south of the ecliptic plane. WSA Enlil analysis indicated this CME
did not have an Earth-directed component.

Re: SOLAR WATCH * 312 M & 25 X FLARES starting 3-7-2011 (Updated Daily)
Voyager 1 has left the solar system, says new study
2 hours ago
(Phys.org) —Voyager 1 appears to have at long last left our solar system and entered interstellar space, says a University of Maryland-led team of researchers.

Carrying Earthly greetings on a gold plated phonograph record and still-operational scientific instruments – including the Low Energy Charged Particle detector designed, built and overseen, in part, by UMD's Space Physics Group – NASA's Voyager 1 has traveled farther from Earth than any other human-made object. And now, these researchers say, it has begun the first exploration of our galaxy beyond the Sun's influence.
"It's a somewhat controversial view, but we think Voyager has finally left the Solar System, and is truly beginning its travels through the Milky Way," says UMD research scientist Marc Swisdak, lead author of a new paper published online this week in The Astrophysical Journal Letters. Swisdak and fellow plasma physicists James F. Drake, also of the University of Maryland, and Merav Opher of Boston University have constructed a model of the outer edge of the Solar System that fits recent observations, both expected and unexpected.
Their model indicates Voyager 1 actually entered interstellar space a little more than a year ago, a finding directly counter to recent papers by NASA and other scientists suggesting the spacecraft was still in a fuzzily-defined transition zone between the Sun's sphere of influence and the rest of the galaxy.
But why the controversy?
At issue is what the boundary-crossing should look like to Earth-bound observers 11 billion miles (18 billion kilometers) away. The Sun's envelope, known as the heliosphere, is relatively well-understood as the region of space dominated by the magnetic field and charged particles emanating from our star. The heliopause transition zone is both of unknown structure and location. According to conventional wisdom, we'll know we've passed through this mysterious boundary when we stop seeing solar particles and start seeing galactic particles, and we also detect a change in the prevailing direction of the local magnetic field.

Strange NASA/JPL Press Releases this month-

JUNO IS HALFWAY TO JUPITER:

[link to www.jpl.nasa.gov]

Well, not really, Juno is actually farther away from Jupiter than when it was launched....I'm not joking either.

I got curious when I noticed Juno on the ENLIL Cone Model (denoted by the gray square):

[link to iswa.gsfc.nasa.gov:8080]

When I looked into this a little more I discovered that Juno will buzz the Earth in October- within 400 miles of your hometown! How the heck is this "halfway-to-Jupiter"?

It's all very understandable if you see the flight-path map. Juno went out to deep space past the orbit of Mars, turned around and came back towards Earth for a gravity-assist so it can speed back out to Jupiter by 2016.

Juno map:

[link to en.wikipedia.org]

It just irks me that NASA always uses misleading headlines and catch-phrases as they talk down to the public as if we're all in grade school. You all know many of these dumb headlines get repeated and distorted all over the internets and YouTube. Think...'Giant Breach in Magnetosphere' , "Cracks in Earth's Magnetic Shield", "Collapse of Earth's Upper Atmosphere", and so on. These are all important and interesting discoveries, but none of these reports are as doomy or alarming as the sensational titles imply. I conclude that NASA must be deliberately promoting fear and ignorance. I'm not sure why.....

Somethings brewing, sun fear is at an alarming rise. My colleagues, those in the business side think its an attempt by the GOP to ruin the economy. I'm a passive fellow, but I almost had to clean a clock yesterday. It seems he believes the GOP is directing all this sun doom to kill the markets, yet he completely believes we are going to die from an event. Stupidity is so frustrating, but almost comical when you've got someone fighting themselves.

NASA Voyager Statement-

August 15, 2013

A newly published paper argues that NASA's Voyager 1 spacecraft has already entered interstellar space. The model described in the paper is new and different from other models used so far to explain the data the spacecraft has been sending back from more than 11 billion miles (18 billion kilometers) away from our sun. (snip)

Their model would mean that the interstellar magnetic field direction is the same as that which originates from our sun.

Other models envision the interstellar magnetic field draped around our solar bubble and predict that the direction of the interstellar magnetic field is different from the solar magnetic field inside. By that interpretation, Voyager 1 would still be inside our solar bubble.

This sounded strangely familiar.....back in March the Voyager team issued a similar brief denial-

March 20, 2013

"The Voyager team is aware of reports today that NASA's Voyager 1 has left the solar system," said Edward Stone, Voyager project scientist based at the California Institute of Technology, Pasadena, Calif. "It is the consensus of the Voyager science team that Voyager 1 has not yet left the solar system or reached interstellar space."

I'm with you on this, fear and small bits of true info seem to be the course for our timeline of late?
Somethings brewing, sun fear is at an alarming rise. My colleagues, those in the business side think its an attempt by the GOP to ruin the economy. I'm a passive fellow, but I almost had to clean a clock yesterday. It seems he believes the GOP is directing all this sun doom to kill the markets, yet he completely believes we are going to die from an event. Stupidity is so frustrating, but almost comical when you've got someone fighting themselves.

It's a trademark of the Hegelian Dialectic-mind control-divide and conquer-cognitive dissonance of the One World Agenda. Most everyone else is just apathetic. Not worth getting too upset about....yet. Peace.

I dont understand how the sat is constructed but surely I would hope they are not pinning there entire model of extra solar space on that aging piece of space junk they let float away.

I dont believe much from NASA, how has voyager got through the asteroid belt?, The magnetic fields must be very weak that far out surely, how do they know it is not faulty data. anyway with our suns field still changing could that be the reason they are so confused. How do they know when it has officially left the "solar system", is there a big box or line or roadsign it passes thru?

magnetic fields are propagated in flux lines which are waves right? so they will be diminishing with distance but will propagate forever making definitive classification of what is, and what is not our solar system difficult, surely.

I don't understand the significance anyhow, what does it matter.
