That's what I 'm thinking, or better word, hoping for!
 Quoting: shadasonic

I just looked again at the JPL for Comet ISON, what a fascinating event that's going to be. When you look at the trajectory, seeing the comet about to buzz Mars in October and then do a hairpin around the Sun, you just wonder what the effects may be.

I somehow wouldn't be surprised if this comet disturbs the Sun quite a bit. Guess we'll have to wait and see!

From the SDO blog site:
Stationkeeping Burn Today
Today at 2200 UTC (6 pm ET) SDO will execute a stationkeeping burn. This 2.4 second firing of four thrusters keeps SDO within its longitude limits of its assigned geosynchronous orbit. Science data will be unavailable for about an hour to allow the spacecraft to prepare for the burn, fire the thrusters, and recover from the burn.

Howdy, friendhi I agree....NASA has been denying other reports as premature; and NOW they claim Voyager left the heliosphere ONE YEAR AGO! I have yet to read the details of their methodology and data. They were waiting for 3 specific criteria (I'm going from memory here, but I think it was: a pause in the solar wind, an increase in cosmic rays, and a shift in mag-fields was the last holdout).

Good-bye Sol....Hello Fluff, LOL.

Several large filaments have lifted off in the south and SE.

These eruptions were south-pole facing and not geoeffective. This weird-looking CME is most likely from one of these-

Ouch. Sorry OJ for silence and lack of interest. You should've gone for a front page pin on this, LOL. These laughable YT vids are usually not worthy of comment, however I sometimes find them a challenge to do some extra research and learn something new, which is why I'm here. We've seen so many of these vids claiming the moon's too bright, in the wrong place, flipped upside-down, etc.

First of all, you've got to realize that everyone but the blind can see the moon, including 100's of thousands (if not millions) of well-equipped amateur astronomers. If anything dramatic or anomalous was happening it would be obvious to all observers and impossible for NASA to 'cover-it-up' even if they wanted to.

Secondly, if you get a good astronomical calendar (I Heartily recommend Guy Ottwell's) you can get a good grasp of the moon's apparent movement and phase illumination from different latitudes on Earth. Yes, just like the sun and the stars, the moon looks different to observers in different parts of our globe.
Recently (last week) we had a close conjunction of the Moon, Venus and Spica. If you look closely at these pics, you will notice that the tilt of the crescent moon looks radically different in Brazil compared to Canada. In fact, South America got to see an rare occultation of Venus while Northern Hemisphere viewers did not. These events are known and forecast years in advance (almost to the exact second!); if the moon or the Earth moved or tilted unexpectedly everyone would know it and you wouldn't have to watch youTube find out.

LUNATIC DEPT- More moon stuff....very interesting....yo can tell these vids were from different years or from different continents as the wobble and phasing are not alike. Very cool videos tho.

[link to www.youtube.com]

While the Moon always keeps the same face to Earth, its not exactly the same. The tilt and shape of the Moon's orbit slightly changes what is visible to us. When you speed a month up to 24 seconds as in this video, our Moon appears to wobble.

[link to www.youtube.com]

DR. Astro also has put out a thread with info on making your own calculations of Lunar orientation and position....make your own spreadsheets, etc.:

I've never seen the sun's x-ray output this weak since I started following this thread. Just barely floating above the "A" range is unacceptable for a solar maximum....somebody wake old Sol.

[link to www.swpc.noaa.gov]

Hopefully we'll see a few flares this week as it looks like 3 active regions may be coming over soon.

STEREO B EUVI movie:

[link to stereo.gsfc.nasa.gov]

I stumbled on this heady article concerning solar x-rays and Iron ions-

"Highly charged ions – that is, atoms which have been stripped off most of their electrons – play an important role in astrophysics. Within the large accumulations of visible (luminous) matter in the universe, the highly charged state is the natural one. This is the case in stellar atmospheres as well as in the interior of stars, where temperatures of several million degrees Celsius rule. Highly charged ions also abound around exotic objects such as neutron stars or black holes. Before matter plunges into their cores, it delivers gravitational energy, heating up and emitting extremely intense X-rays, which can be observed.

X-rays also determine the energy transport inside the Sun. At its core temperature of 15 million degrees, a natural fusion power plant runs with a total capacity of about 4·1026 watts. The power density of 200 watts per cubic meter is, however, modest, and corresponds to about that of a compost heap. In contrast to such, the Sun is very large. If the solar core would freely radiate X-rays at those temperatures, a power exceeding the fusion energy yield by 11 orders of magnitude would be lost. The sun works because the radiation transport to the outside is inhibited, thus maintaining the high core temperature. Convection, the heat transport by turbulent upstream flows of hot matter, only takes place further outward, starting at about 70% of the solar radius. This good insulation reduces hydrogen consumption and extends the duration of fusion in our central star to the billions of years that are needed for the formation of a stable planetary system, and ultimately for the development of life."
