The M3.1 produced a brief tenflare-

Space Weather Message Code: SUM10R
Serial Number: 608
Issue Time: 2014 Feb 02 1825 UTC

SUMMARY: 10cm Radio Burst
Begin Time: 2014 Feb 02 1809 UTC
Maximum Time: 2014 Feb 02 1809 UTC
End Time: 2014 Feb 02 1810 UTC
Duration: 1 minutes

Peak Flux: 180 sfu
Latest Penticton Noon Flux: 177 sfu
Description: A 10cm radio burst indicates that the electromagnetic burst associated with a solar flare at the 10cm wavelength was double or greater than the initial 10cm radio background. This can be indicative of significant radio noise in association with a solar flare. This noise is generally short-lived but can cause interference for sensitive receivers including radar, GPS, and satellite communications.

Did you catch AR1967s' size!?
2440 Millionths! [link to www.solen.info]
The largest region of Cycle 24 was this spot on the last rotation weighing in at 2600 Millionths - The largest of Cycle 23 was AR9393(I think!?)at 2400 Millionths which makes 1967 the Second largest region for quite some time.

I am having trouble finding a good list of SCs and Sunspot Area,so I may be incorrect...if anyone has a clue where I can source better info it would be muchos apprecito!

Hello Solar V - Luv your posts btw!

I'd say the background at present would work out around C3/4 which is still pretty darn good!

Solen appear to expect muchness from 1967 also, quotage 'Region 11967 [S12E17] developed quickly in the central and northwestern section. There is a contiguous penumbral structure of approximately 15 degrees longitudinally. Multiple strong magnetic delta structures could be the origin of a major X class flare at any time during the next 2-3 days'

Here that folks!?
Major X Class Flare potential!!!

Judging by the ACE proton flux, there's still a chance that our slow-poke, glancing-blow CME from the M6.6 is still on the way. The 1271 km/s speed estimate may have been for the central shock-front rather than for the slower edges headed in our direction.

Hello Hugh : )

As with most all CMEs' of late ,no matter how fast, dense or wide,we will have little induced Geostorming due to how fast they are expanding into the Interplanetary Medium - I would expect very little from the CME Imo.

Heliospheric Pressure is down 40% remember -

[link to www.youtube.com]

The best bet for Geostorming 'these days' will be from CHs/Sector Boundary Crossings/CIRs.
Even that last(X Flare)hellacious Velocity CME had very, very, very little effect at Terra...not even a G1 was registered.

Still,we watch hf
