Yes, I remember last years triangular coronal hole :)

[link to d1jqu7g1y74ds1.cloudfront.net]

Cant see the shape fully yet of the coronal hole coming around

Yes! That's it! They even showed that on my local 6pm news last year...then they had to run a story the next day saying "everything's okay" because so many people were calling the news station freaked out...

On another note, I got me some tarot cards on Friday and have been busy teaching myself how to read them :)

^^wow, that is eggcellent grammar up there ^^
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 23494205

I think its awful, people freaking out because they hear something on the news and don't know nothing about it. Panic over nothing...tztz. I don't believe in panic anyway... makes one irrational and tends to hurt. So by learning about things, one gains much more understanding :)

Try to get the grand arcana first with the tarot set :) Once you are comfortable with it you can start on the other cards (wands, cups, swords and discs - depending on your set, basically air, water, fire and earth). Look at the pics and try to figure what they tell or what they mean to you. Never go strictly by some guide which might came along with the deck ;)

dang...that second part was way off topic... sorry!!!

After 2+ years of watching this stuff, I've finally stumbled over the MOTHERLODE of secret CME information!!! Here's a belated Christmas present to y'all out there....first a sample from the M6.666 flare-CME (whose arrival we're now awaiting)-be sure to scroll all the way down:

[link to umbra.nascom.nasa.gov]

Why the hell does NASA hide this shit from us? Why couldn't they just provide a public link through their beloved mouthpiece Dr. Tony @ spaceweather.com or , better yet, just include it in the SOHO website? But NOOOOOOOOooooo, we'll just bury it for the 'insiders' to access. I'm overjoyed and pissed-off at the same time about this. Now I know why NOAA always says they have to wait for more data and analysis to evaluate a CME. THEY'RE WAITING FOR THIS PAGE !!!

Top Secret Index of CME data belonging to the American taxpayer:

Don't forget to bookmark this in case they disappear me, lol.

These are good releases for mama earth!

I was at an arborist/ municipality conference last week and got to talk to an ITC engineer on grid mechanics, very interesting. It would seem that the east coast has the best possibility of grid failure during a massive event, the upper midwest seems to be the safest place. I was told we have nothing to worry about unless we would have multiple events , which we have discussed. I asked all kinds of questions about the weakening magnetosphere, etc.., he seemed startled at alot of my questions. I think he was more of a company guy, with learned engineer responses, but it was interesting learning about back up potential. The east coast seems very vulnerable compared to the midwest. Just throwing this out there.

edit: he mentioned their biggest worry is the increasing possibilities of super storms over the next 5 years. They also had a sema group there, state emergency, which is a first for me after 25 years of attending these shows. It was a very emergency oriented event

I believe that sunspot number reached on January will give a new maximum sunspot peak on Solar Cycle Progression, the previous was on 2011-11 with 96.7 sunspot. I mean for the shown on solen's table at bottom of page.

Well, my appreciation about SSN was wrong, but we got in January a new peak in Solar Flux (157.4) to Cycle 24.
