I dunno if someone else already posted this but what do you guys make of this??
I wanted to know what you guys think..

Uh, I think it's bunk like most crazy Youtube UFO/Nibiru goofiness. I wish he posted links to his info so I didn't have waste an hour to find out. I'm not sure how that spot got there but I assure you it's not a planet-sized spaceship full of aliens-cloaked or un-cloaked. I found the raw images from the STEREO Ahead HI 1 for that CME and there's nothing there. It's seen on the SECCHI processed movie images so it's most likely an image-processing anomaly. The spot appears brightly at 23:29 and the next frame (conveniently left out of the Youtube video) at 00:09 there's no trace. Anyway here's raw HI1 image from 23:39.

FAR OUT!

NASA's Voyager spacecraft is 18 billion kilometers from the sun and has entered a new "stagnation region" (why not call it the "stagnatospere"?). Launched in 1977, V'ger hasn't reached interstellar space yet, but it's getting awfully close to the edge of the heliosphere. Solar wind speed is near zero and "gust erratically"; sometimes even blowing backwards(!) and energetic solar particles are now fewer by 50%.
According to NASA/JPL news release, "At the same time, Voyager has detected a 100-fold increase in the intensity of high-energy electrons from elsewhere in the galaxy diffusing into our solar system from outside, which is another indication of the approaching boundary".
:vger:

oops, forgot links.

Active region 1363 is trying to live up to it's advance hype just unleashing a C6.9-the strongest flare in quite awhile. The last four C-flares have all come from 1363.
:eve1363:

Someone tell NINzrez to get back here quick- I sense an M-flare very soon.

Some eruptive activity on the western limb again. It looks like a flaring of 1358 which has gone over the limb.

It appears to be a Romulan attack vessel uncloaking.
Only kidding of course. I don't know what it is-most likely some strange reflections in the optics. Sometimes tiny pieces of insulation fall off and appear quite large in the lens--STEREO A has been getting peppered with CMEs lately. Y'know how they all seem to blast away at 90 degree angles from Earth; well that's where the STEREO crafts are more or less. The frame taken 15 mins. later appears normal. Strange to me is the fact that I usually use the other STEREO web-portal--and that image is mysteriously missing. Hmmmm.

Thanks, Joinca, I got my first ACE email today and thought posting, but I got lazy. I guess you got subscribed to their news release, too. Great, though I find some of their stuff way over my head, LOL. Other interesting articles in their archive (cosmic rays, CME particle analysis, etc):

I'm not a big fan of the "official Sunspot Number". It's very confusing to the layman and I couldn't explain it to anyone w/o looking it up again. Invented in 1848 by Rudolf Wolf so he could impress his hung-over fellow astronomers. And then you get to bring up the old 10.7 cm flux radio emission which is rumored to be somewhat correlating to the SS #. Today's Sunspot Number is 185 and 10.7 cm flux is 164--not too close really. I only pay attention to the SS# when it gets near 200 or better--it's an indication of coming solar max.

A lot of these NASA missions have mirror sites in the UK or elsewhere. There's several SOHO/LASCO sites. Why they have different set of images is both baffling and maddening.

Thanks, AC, I was gonna suggest somebody email NASA at that webmaster address they list at the STEREO website(s).
That's funny you got a response faster from Dr. Strong on YouTube than you would from NASA, LOL. Let's all make a note of that, haha. Judging from that video I wouldn't be surprised if Dr. S was lurking on GLP SOLAR WATCH yesterday.

I wrote to SOHO once and I got a thoughtful and prompt reply-but it was during the afternoon. I saw these proton graphs from STEREO A are really spiking. I think STEREO A got hit right in the face with the last big CME. The spike is peaking around the time of that weird image. If strong CMEs can scour material off the surface of Mercury, I imagine it could shred some insulation off of a spacecraft. It's a real testament to NASA's engineering that SOHO is still operating after 16 years--bombarded with all that radiation and God knows what else.
