There is a new Region on the northeast limb rotating into view soon. We noticed also some significant change at Region 1393 in the last hours. A nice image from the Dutch Observatory shows us the Prominence on the east limb is still there :ProminencesJan72: Fulldisc :Closeup1391Jan72: CloseUpRegion1391 and Prominence Solar activity was quiet yesterday and till now [link to www.tesis.lebedev.ru] This morning Region 1392 produced a C2 solar flare, peaking at 00:09UT and Region 1389 produced a C1 solar flare peaking at 04:53UT [link to solarwatchninzrez.blogspot.com] |
| Anonymous Coward User ID: 1297814 01/07/2012 10:49 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | SIDC - RWC BELGIUM 07 Jan 2012, 1208UT NOAA regions 11390, 11392, 11388 and 11389 have each produced a low C flare in the last 24 hours. The brightest flare was released by NOAA AR 1392 and had a GOES X-ray flux peak value of C2.6 around 00:09 UT on January 7. More C flares are expected in the next 24 hour period. After the arrival on Janury 6 of the expected Coronal Hole high speed stream, ACE has measured solar wind velocities between 400 and 450 km/s in the last 24 hours, with the IMF around 5 nT. Geomagnetic conditions have been quiet in this period, and are expected to be quiet with a chance of active periods on January 7. Quiet conditions are likely on January 8. On January 9, a glancing blow is possible from the CME first observed by COR2 A on January 5, 14:24 UT, in which case active geomagnetic levels are expected. [link to sidc.oma.be] |
