omg : awesome orrery

[link to www.dynamicdiagrams.com]

you can really see that the Sol's rotation period is the same as the Luna's orbital period in this model.

very sweet.

on a whim, i checked the CME list Nin's/IWTB blog. Unless i missed one, there was only one earth directed CME produced last year.

'twas on 9.07, yes?

well: Venus was in 90 planetary coupling with us on that date....

there was way more
we just did not record them all for the flare list
i wish we had though :/
we have changed this, and will now record all earth directed CME's so that we are better able to track these as well

as a final thought for the morning.

we know that some CME's hit other planets too, right?
So.
what were the planetary alignments when that happened? were those planets @ 90deg to any other at the time?

what if CME's are planetary 'words' using Sol as a coupler and interacting always at 90 deg?

shrug.
i mean think about planetary time scales: a year is what...? a 'day'? to a planet?

if the smallest perceptible (on average) human time 'grain'(perceptible unit of time) is 1/10 sec, what then would a planet consider the smallest perceptible 'grain' of time?

a single rotation?

so yearly CME's could easily be a 'conversation'?

lol. kinda boggles the mind , no?

The M-Class is a full halo CME, the type to bring a classic solar storm to the planet upon impact. Don't be alarmed to see your GPS place you far from where you are or take some time to locate you. This should impact electronic devices worldwide, arriving in just under six hours from now.

I like how they call a CME a solar flare and aren't even looking into the event to realize that the timestamp on the graphic they used is tomorrow. The impact today is a weaker glancing blow.

hyperresonance theory is the key. Its all about vibration seismo.info << educate yourself and you will find its ALL about alignments . The mayans didn't have any special technology they just noticed events when the planets were aligned and other celestial objects were in certain sections of the sky. Look at the alignments that will occur this year and you have your answers.

this got my attention, but then after reading it i had a big "OHHHHHH!!!!"
it's from GLP's kevin martin, and when giving the report, he is mixing up the differance between a solar flare, and a CME

from the article:
Many are saying an M-Class is not all that strong and won't do anything, however TheWeatherSpace.com Senior Meteorologist Kevin Martin explains why one is.

"It is not the strength of the flare, but the direction, speed, and impact on the planet," said Martin. "You can have an X-Class solar flare coming and it won't hit right for any major impacts. Most of our major events that impacted the planet, taking cell service and GPS out were M-Class events, similar to this one."

speed is always about the same, 8min from the sun to earth
that is because the FLARE is LIGHT.
any flare that is registered on the Xray flux, IS impacting earth
if it registers as a M9, that is because M9 worth of Xray light is being registered at earth
If that M9 flare is coming from the limb of the sun, it could infact be a X5 flare, but only M( worth is being registered by our Xray monitors here on earth

all in all, a M1 is a M1 period(or whatever size the flare is). it is earth directed (because thats where its monitored at) and it reaches us in about 8min (because a Xray is light.

the CME from yesterday was in no way moving fast enough to arrive tonight. yesterdays CME left the sun at around 1100km
i would have to do the math, but it would take many times that speed to make it here by tonight

Yeah I noted that in a thread someone posted saying it was arriving tonight. The site can't even distinguish between a flare and a CME and didn't mention the CME from the 16th that is supposed to hit us tonight, the big one is still supposed to be tomorrow according to the forecast track that site erroneously labels a "Solar flare"

I think its just bad information.

sad to see
you are right, we have the glancing effects of a CME from the 16th that is due any time now today.
[link to mysolaralerts.blogspot.com]

im going to look up the exact distance from the sun to earth, then see how long it would take a CME traveling at 1100km to reach
this is how goodard comes up with their arrival time. then they give the CME a window of anywhere from +or-6hr to +or-8hrs etc

without looking it up, Goodard has the arrival of yesterdays big CME at Jan 21st @ 22:00 + or - 6hrs i believe

They just posted this on their facebook
[link to www.facebook.com]

The space prediction center stated it arrives tonight. This does not mean the bulk of it hits when it arrives since it is a full halo. The bulk is Saturday night through Sunday. The impact of the beginning of it starts tonight and this is what counts for any radio blackouts, which are always ahead of the bulk of the flare

Are they amateurs, or am I missing something?

im going to look up the exact distance from the sun to earth, then see how long it would take a CME traveling at 1100km to reach
this is how goodard comes up with their arrival time. then they give the CME a window of anywhere from +or-6hr to +or-8hrs etc

without looking it up, Goodard has the arrival of yesterdays big CME at Jan 21st @ 22:00 + or - 6hrs i believe

the CME cloud interacts with the solar wind doesn't it? ... slowing down to or speeding up to the wind's speed? well, i read that recently and it makes sense.

solar wind speed = low right now.

i too would like to know when it arrives: i figure haarp will be the best fist indication, no?

Re: SOLAR WATCH * 312 M & 25 X FLARES starting 3-7-2011 (Updated Daily)
Forecasters have determined that the CME from NOAA Region 1402 near disk center yesterday will likely pass above (north) of Earth. This glancing blow will cause just G1 (Minor) Geomagnetic Storm activity. Look for the first signs of it around 1800Z (1:00 pm EST) on Sunday, January 22, with the bulk of the disturbance to occur Monday, January 23. Watch here for updates.
