Re: SOLAR WATCH * Huge X8.2 Flare Sept. 10, 2017! (Updated Daily)
I was refering to the chance that these flares or CMEs could affect the Eastern Rift Zone of the Big Island. If it breaks off a big surfboard would be good, and a scuba tank.

I know, just having fun. If I were facing that threat that you mention. I would get in a full wetsuit. Eat as many spam masubi and manapua as possible and leash my board to my ankle. Then I would stuff my two-bladder cammel pack with one side poi, other cocconut water. and smoke one big one.

Im a volcano guy myself so i dont know much about these solar events. Is it usual that there are several M-class flares in one day? And if there are (like today) is there a build up or are they all independent of eachother (sun spots i mean)?

Spam would be a great addition to the bugout kit. I may have to throw a few cans into my submarine.

Well I would have expected that level of intelligence in your answer. English is not my native language but it seems that i have more knowledge about it than you do.

Event, a noun. "That which comes, arrives, or happens; that which falls out; any incident, good or bad"

So the fact that you wrote that reply would be an "event" wouldnt it?

And not to be picky but "This no event"? dunno how many errors in that sentence but it doesnt look good.

I think seven now. However that will be little help in what will be effected or occure in next few day unless you want to wrap electronics in lead. In case of a big one.

flares are not always accompanied by coronal mass ejections. there have been 5-7 m-class flares, and only 2 known cme's so far. they don't always occur together. flare is in the xray spectrum and reaches earth in about 8 mins. cme's are charged particles from the sun and are slower, sometimes taking up to 3 days to reach earth.

the current one from 1164 is not really earth directed. the one from 166 is more so. 1166 is the one to watch now.
