SOLAR WATCH * Huge X8.2 Flare Sept. 10, 2017! (Updated Daily)

Could this absorption make tidal waves if this continues too long with this db and this large area?

Db i know can cause earthquake, so just thought it could have some effect to "plates". Im not sure about this then.

SpaceWeather is now saying NO CME from the X flare yesterday

UPDATE (March 10 @ 1800 UT): Newly-arriving coronagraph data from the Solar and Heliospheric Observatory show no bright CME emerging from this eruption. Some material was surely hurled in our direction, but probably not enough for significant Earth-effects.

bad timing for SC24, we almost had three red flags but the top one went back to yellow cause of the m flare. I'm still waiting for that 3 red flag day..

no "bright" CME is different than no CME..

SC24 is now saying

It appears the solar flare that took place late last night created a faint and possibly earth directed Coronal Mass Ejection (CME).

"appears" it sounds like these guys are asking their lawyer's advice before posting :0

the 1min flux shows some very erratic readings and i am watching for her to pop

sure don't sound like they "know" to much does it

I know we can clearly see mass right to the left of the sunspot directly after the flare
im going with there was a CME
since we didnt get to see any STEREO or SOHO from the time frame
how convenient

I concur, there was a CME.

I earlier said it seems like 1169 and 1166 could pop, my lawyer just told me to watch the language too :(

Solar wind finally reached 400. But now the proton density is down to 0.1. Is it broken?

It's working, the 2200kps CME and the other just grazed us, maybe a little more activity coming but I doubt we'll see much more from those 2..

im in Michigan and its light clouds out tonight and they are this soft pink color

Hey guys whats up!

Doesn't look like I missed too awful much.

SDO EVE SAM shows the latest M1 flare to have occured from old region 1165 which has now rotated off the western limb. Had this flare occured while earth directed GOES would probably have registerd it as an X flare.

have you guys checked out the STEREO ahead lately? Holy crap theres a LOT of sunspot clusters. IF they keep growing like it looks like they are, then in 2 weeks time it will get REAL interesting.
