WTF. I call bull shit on this. This, being his site shut down. Im afraid all solar information, like other data sources will be filtered through a monitored channel. Lots of crap sites are up and running. I do hope im wrong.

You know, during the x flare Kevin's site was bogged down, and in the forum people were asking when they were going to increase capacity. Most people want as much traffic as possible directed to their site. If it's going to be problematic I guess we can stop posting his hyperlink when we post information from there. Brief VHF Aurora openings: Over the past few days there have been a few brief evening time Aurora openings on VHF, particularily on 6 meters. YouTube video will be available soon.

Solar Update - Now that I have the website back up after a denial of service attack, I will get back to posting about the sun.

Solar activity was low on Friday with only C-Class activity taking place. Sunspot 1166 remains a large group with a BETA-Gamma-Delta configuration and could still produce M-Class flares. A new sunspot was numbered 1172 on Friday and is located towards the eastern limb.

Geomagnetic Storming took place at high latitudes and was caused by effects from an incoming CME. There will remain the chance for minor geomagnetic storming

i had 2 more after where the spot opened up and made a pacman shape pointing to Columbia, somehow the files did not save correctly, I have the files but the format is not working. I'll try to work on them..

Ever wonder who Kevin is ?

I figured it is about time to put a face to my website incase anybody is wondering who I am, apart from being a big solar nerd. Well here is a little bit about myself. Not to sound like a dating website, but my name is Kevin (duh) and I am 33 years old and live in Cornwall, Ontario, Canada. My hair is naturally brown, but I do dye it many different colours including blue, green and its current colour .. red. Stragely enough, the one colour it has never been.. is Orange. I work for a major US cellphone company doing customer care work and one day hope to be able to do this website as a full time job. If only the lottery numbers would go my way :o). Other things I am into is drinking good beer,eating chicken wings, skateboarding, playing bass guitar, this website and amateur (ham) radio. I am also known for making lots of spelling errors (too lazy to use spell check). So now that you know who I am, just wanna say thanks for the support and hope the Sun continues to wake itself up.

So weird, I just pulled it up for the first time today RIGHT before that

SDO EVE shows this latest M flare to have originated from Region 1166.
