So now suddenly it falls apart, like it's a fragile piece of dirt?. |

At present, comet Elenin is too close to the sun to be viewed from the Northern Hemisphere Shame! Looks like I'll have to wait until October, assuming that we are all still here then! Anonymous Coward User ID: 1297814 Germany 08/29/2011 03:14 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Morning all, NOAA forecasters estimate a 25% chance of polar geomagnetic activity today in response to the expected impact of an incoming solar wind stream. Solar activity is at very low levels and there is currently no chance for strong solar flares on the earth facing side of the Sun. Sunspot 1271 has rotated onto the western limb and out of direct earth view. At the same time a new Sunspot rotated into view on the southeast limb and was numbered 1281 on Sunday. [link to thewatchers.adorraeli.com] Finally some other sources reports it^^ |
Anonymous Coward User ID: 1297814 Germany 08/29/2011 04:25 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | looks like some structure activity on 1280 Quoting: NiNzrez look at the movie today with the bronze filter [link to sdo.gsfc.nasa.gov] right again A C3 flare peaked at 0721z [link to spotsandflares.lefora.com] New region was numbered 1281 yesterday. This is a CSO type group with a size of 60 millionths and a Beta type magnetic configuration. All the other 5 visible groups are in decline. Two B5 solar flares took place, one from region 1278 and the other from region 1281. Region 1277 produced a B4 while region 1280 produced a B3 flare. There is a chance of occasional C class solar flares taking place over the coming days. |
aether User ID: 1412926 United Kingdom 08/29/2011 06:38 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Solar Lightning Aug 29, 2011 Solar flares can be thought of as giant lightning discharges. Quoting: scienceConventional thinking suggests that the Sun accelerates charged particles into space in the same way that sound waves are amplified. Eruptions in the photosphere travel outward through "acoustical wave-guides," known as magnetic flux tubes. Structures called spicules rise thousands of kilometers above the photosphere and carry the hot gas with them. The Sun is the locus of positive charge with respect to interstellar plasma. Sunspots appear when electric discharges penetrate the photosphere, allowing electric current to flow into its depths. Electromagnetic flux tubes expose the Sun's cooler interior. The idea of acoustic heat transfer from the core cannot be supported by any observations of the Sun. As standard theories about the Sun propose, there is also a vast "conveyor belt" circulating solar matter down into magnetically active zones deep inside the solar interior, where it is "reenergized." When sunspot magnetic fields begin to decline, the conveyor belt pulls what's left inside the Sun. As a recent press release states, they are drawn 300,000 kilometers below the surface, where they are re-magnetized by the "solar dynamo." The sunspots become buoyant in the plasma flow, rising back up to the photosphere to start a new solar cycle. In an Electric Universe, plasma discharge behavior is a better model for solar activity. Laboratory experiments with a positively charged sphere show that a plasma torus forms above its equator. Electric discharges bridge the torus with the middle and lower latitudes of the sphere. Spicules are consistent with the principle of "anode tufting," a plasma discharge effect expected of a positively charged electric Sun. El Quisqueyano User ID: 1523263 United States 08/29/2011 11:00 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | I have found an app for android phones that I think everyone in earthquake prone areas should have, it is called Quake Oracle 2.2. It uses your phone accelerometer and magnetic sensitivity to detect P-Waves, S-Waves and Magnetic activity. The magnetic activity portion of this system is the most important one because it detects the Electromagnetic pulse released by an earthquakes electrical discharge which can give folks from minutes to hours before the quake strikes, possibly in their area. If a big quake strikes far from your location this kind of signal will also be picked up so not all EMP's detected by app are guaranteed to cause a quake in your immediate area. But better to know than not so I think app is worth downloading. Magnetic sensitivity is also prevalent to pick up EMP's from CME's and Flares from our Sun. It's also known , but not proven, to pick up electromagnetic energy put off by spirits in your immediate location. It is an app worth having on your android phone. I cost something like $2.99 worth every penny if in an area prone to earthquakes. Last Edited by El Quisqueyano on 08/29/2011 11:00 AM |
