SOLAR WATCH * Huge X8.2 Flare Sept. 10, 2017! (Updated Daily)

we have a large prominence lift off in the northern region,
our new area above 1277 got a number
New region 11282 emerged in the northeast quadrant on August 29 and was number the next day by SWPC. There's some polarity intermixing

on SDO this morning, we can see this intermixing with some connectivity going on in the whole region of 1277 and 1282
the north polar coronal hole is almost gone again.

a strong indicator that we will start seeing large activity of flares and CMEs starting again.

looking at the Magnetogram on SDO, we can see there is fast growth today of regions 1280, 1281 and 1282

the most interesting being the neg- growth seen within the pos+ area of region 1281

we have activity now with lots of growth in sunspot regions

and check out the pos/neg/pos (+-+) structure of 1283 on the far eastern edge

Solar activity is low. Region NOAA 11283 produced a C2.2 flare overnight. The regions most likely to produce C-class activity today are NOAA 11281. 11282 and 11283. All are bright in H-alpha and appear to be growing.
NOAA 11284, S19 W67 (X= 829,Y=-351). Alpha region.

Unnumbered region, N12 W34 (X= 522,Y= 100). Beta region.

NOAA 11277, N18 W10 (X= 158,Y= 181). Alpha region.

NOAA 11282, N24 W09 (X= 136,Y= 278). Beta region. C-class flare possible.

NOAA 11279, N13 W03 (X= 49,Y= 97). Alpha region.

NOAA 11281, S20 E30 (X=-448,Y=-421). Beta region. C-class flare possible.

NOAA 11283, N12 E60 (X=-807,Y= 138). Beta region. C-class flare possible.

well i guess then i will take the odd bet on a magnetic merger between 1277 and 1282
but ill also place something on 1283 as well
hmmm i also have to say i think we will see something decent from 1281 (this based on todays growth)

The BBC have just shown a documentary about the Earth' core, which finished on this South Atlantic Anomaly. Strange stuff!

This seems to be one of the largest pockets of flucuation or weakening. There are several others. The theory goes that as the poles weaken the fields flucuate with increasing numbers of pockets moving around the globe before finally making a complete reverse.

I was thinking the 1277 + 1282 combo as well, because we sure have seen those before. I will not be suprised to see that work out. 1282 actually is similarly configured to the last region that gave a lot of activity..

Several C class solar flares taken place yesterday from regions 1281 and 1283. There are C class solar flares expected over the coming days. If growth continues in the larger groups we have chance of a M class solar flare taking place.

A small disturbance from a coronal hole is expected to arrive on the 3rd of September
