[link to www2.nict.go.jp] Woops someone else already posted my question. Quoting: RelaxingVibes Mhh if u look now at "NICT" [link to www2.nict.go.jp] all seems to be fine When the lines are crossed or in a ball Example: [link to api.ning.com] The IMF is in a north direction (positive) and the magnetosphere is protecting its self from solar winds and particles. This is good. maybe u made a screenshot? |

Although 1283 still hold a chance for a M flare, it poses little threat 1289 - Now all eyes are on monster sunspot region 1289 as well as a very large region behind 1289 that will be rotation over the eastern limb in the next few days Region 11289 added several spots in a new penumbra to the south of the large penumbra. The new penumbra could easily develop a magnetic delta structure 1289 has a beta-gamma configuration as of the time of this post [link to www.solen.info] here is the latest SDO magnetogram image of the sun [link to sdo.gsfc.nasa.gov] on this composite we can see well the sunspot regions [link to sdo.gsfc.nasa.gov] here we can see the sunspot region that is just over the eastern limb of the sun and will be rotating earths direction over the next few days this is on STEREO Behind, an image taken of the left side of the sun, from earths view [link to stereo.gsfc.nasa.gov] the big bright section in the middle top section is the region i speak of here it is on the GONG Calibrated Farside Map [link to sdo.gsfc.nasa.gov] (the spot circled in red) lets comapre that region to 1283 that produced most of the main activity we have seen this past week 1283 is the bright spot on the top left section in this image [link to stereo.gsfc.nasa.gov] Last Edited by NiNzrez on 09/10/2011 10:24 AM Join Me On The GLP SOLAR WATCH Thread Thread: SOLAR WATCH * Huge X8.2 Flare Sept. 10, 2017! The point about sudden comet outbursts is that we are dealing with a sudden, discontinuous process of plasma discharge - a switch from dark current mode to normal glow mode. It is a complex surface phenomenon that cannot be predicted. The best we can do is to say that the passage of a sudden change in the solar wind is the most likely time to see a flareup." The CME associated with the X1.8 event in region 11283 may cause a flank impact at Earth on September 10 resulting in a brief increase in disturbance levels [link to www.solen.info] here we can see earth side CME for that timeframe [link to stereo-ssc.nascom.nasa.gov] a few i will highlight [link to stereo-ssc.nascom.nasa.gov] 12hrs apart [link to stereo-ssc.nascom.nasa.gov] [link to stereo-ssc.nascom.nasa.gov] [link to stereo-ssc.nascom.nasa.gov] Join Me On The GLP SOLAR WATCH Thread Thread: SOLAR WATCH * Huge X8.2 Flare Sept. 10, 2017! Elenin hitting perihelion is when it is at it's closest to the sun durring its passing in our solar system looking on JPL as well as a few other orbital diagrams i have, Elenin will reach it's closest to the sun very close to being right above sunspot region 1289 here we can see where 1289 is [link to www.solen.info] what effect this will have, if any, I'm not sure but if we see a large Flare and/or CME, i will not be surprised at all Join Me On The GLP SOLAR WATCH Thread Thread: SOLAR WATCH * Huge X8.2 Flare Sept. 10, 2017!
