SOLAR WATCH * Huge X8.2 Flare Sept. 10, 2017! (Updated Daily)

Eleven sunspot groups are reported today. The active region with the strongest flaring activity is currently sunspot group 72 (NOAA AR 1295).

It produced a C9.9 flare peaking at 20:54 UT yesterday. The flare was accompanied by coronal dimmings and a post-eruptive arcade, indicating the eruption of a CME (not detected by SOHO/LASCO due to a data gap).

sunspot group 72 (NOAA AR 1295)is expected to produce more C-class flares with a good chance for an M-flare.

Due to the active region position at the north-east solar limb,possible eruptions are not expected to be geoeffective. The Earth is currently inside a fast (around 580 km/s) solar wind flow with average (around 5 nT) interplanetary magnetic field magnitude.

Quiet geomagnetic conditions are expected, possibly with isolated intervals of active conditions.

The Geomagnetic Storm has subsided over the past few hours.

However, the solar wind remains energized and occasional pulses of activity are expected for another 24 hours.

Region 1283, the responsible party back at the Sun, decayed today.

The Geomagnetic Storm intensified to G2 (Moderate) due to prolonged southward Bz.
But the solar wind magnetic field vector has weakened in the last hour, so possibly the teeth of the storm has now just passed....

no thanks.... nobody can replace Ninzrez, she is great, I hope to see her here very soon again, but I'm sure she has higher priorities right now. But a large amount of positive energy is going to her and I truly believe that will help.

Just read -- so sorry beautiful soul. I fell from my roof two years ago --- wheel chair/for months etc...
They told me so many negative things I refused to believe -- our bodies will listen to the love you give it...

I am not my normal self -but I am far from the cripple they told me I would be putting all kinds of metal on my foot. Refused that too... I love to send you info on supplements to take and stuff to help you heal. ElQ has my email.
Feel better sweet-heart believe it or not there is a reason for this accident.

Do not torture yourself with why ? did it happen (I did) and then when I realize tormenting myself with the past just prolong me from concentrating on the present and how to get better... so let it go the whys? concentrate on YOU and your complete wellness.... you will find the answer in time.

So sorry to hear about your accident. Wishing for a speedy recovery for you, I'll say a prayer. The thread just wasnt the same without you yesterday, everyone was wondering where you were. It is nice to know there are so many nice people here on glp and you are one of them.

Be well. Consider asking for counseling to avoid PTSD. It sounded like a traumatic event. If need be, ask doctors at the hospital for temporary anti-anxiety meds....earlier treatment can prevent this from hard-wiring your brain.

I was reviewing the thread about donations for NiN and it was removed while I was reading it. I suppose that it is not allowed on GLP and I can see why that would be.

If anyone is setting anything up or has a way to send NiN a donation, can you please post it here? It is understandable that people are concerned about making donations to a person in such a manner. There have been many times that donation never gets to the one it is meant for, but I hope there is a way we can help.

Nin, I've just been a lurker on your thread 'cause the science is a little over my head, but as a young child of the 60's, I love anything "space"! I was a single mom for a lot of years and I know it's one of the worst nightmares. I won't type the same things here, but know it to be true from me, also. Over the top, gf, over the top! We are of stronger stuff than we sometimes get credit for!
