...a lot of spots on the far side that we need to watch as they rotate our direction here is the HMI Calibrated Farside Map [ link to sdo.gsfc.nasa.gov] this is something to keep an eye on for sure Quoting: NiNzrez Giant sunspot #1289, which was so well-behaved while you were hospitalized, has been spewing out large CME's and is now coming over the northeast limb again. [ link to sidc.oma.be] Quoting: Hugh M Eye Er, ya know I mean northwest limb. Anyway here's the latest bulletin from SIDC on the CME's. They count 3 on the way (of course we know better) and first arrival expected Oct 3 (soon). [ link to sidc.oma.be] Latest solar magnetic field lines seem to indicate a weakening (or at least more chaotic) connecton between 1302 & 1305. However, western hemisphere seems to have intensified connections especially lines reaching from north to south. I wonder what this signifies. [ link to sdo.gsfc.nasa.gov] Any suggestions, conjecture, or analysis is welcome. Quoting: Hugh M Eye I think the two sunspots coming into view are connected magnetically.
