Make sure and open door out right away in quake. The doors jam right away, you know go outa square and get stuck. You really do have to watch for poles and shingles too.

I know your question was for Ninz, however, I have to respond. Yes, all hell has to break loose. This is the only way we can save what is left of our earth. Be prepared and you should make it. Evil people have wreaked havoc and control upon us and there is no way to get rid of them other than nature's wrath. They thought they were above her and now they and unfortunatly us must face a world we have never known. Nature Doom/Sun Doom = Freedom.

Hey, guys...all seriousness (sp?) DON'T stand in a door way. Hubby and I are part of our county's search and rescue team. The latest and greatest training says to kneel NEXT to a large, sturdy piece of furniture. The doorways can't hold up under pressure and you'll end up getting crushed. Don't go UNDER furniture, either, same results. If you can't get outside safely, kneel down next to your couch or something similar. It will create a space for you when the ceiling or wall falls and the furniture will take the weight.

Just wondering.....2 places in the US that don't normally get EQs especially over 5M, VA and OK and just months apart.

Right, well it's all bad in a earthquake, and were's the triangle going to be at?? Well I was saying if you don't get that door open you will not get outside so easy.

I don't know so much but they give us fluoride, change all the rules, totally rip us off and well I just want to get outside and not get hit by a pole, tree, shingle or flying heavy.

You're right, Finley, it IS all bad if you're in it. I'm not too sure if any of us would remember what to do when it happens to us. I just know that if you have time to get into a doorway like the old training used to tell us, we would have time to get near a couch or a chair. The real trick is to NOT panic. BTW, the same is true for tornados, but cover yourself with blankets or mattress. Don't really know how much help that would be, but I guess every little bit helps.

What is a P wave? An S wave?

When an earthquake occurs, it releases energy in the form of seismic waves that radiate from the earthquake source in all directions. The different types of energy waves shake the ground in different ways and also travel through the earth at different velocities. The fastest wave, and therefore the first to arrive at a given location, is called the P wave. The P wave, or compressional wave, alternately compresses and expands material in the same direction it is traveling. The S wave is slower than the P wave and arrives next, shaking the ground up and down and back and forth perpendicular to the direction it is traveling. Surface waves follow the P and S waves.

I have been in epicenters of 2 major quakes, 1971 Sylmar and 1994 Northridge. do not run outside because shit may fall on you, including the building you are running from or power lines. Get next to something that can handle weight if your somewhere where shit such as a building may fall upon you. However, the thing you get next to may bounce up and land upon you. So, the lesson is that in a big quake you need to be aware and make choices but then you must also have luck. there are many stories of people that were in one spot but moved at jsut the right time. So if it is your time to go you are screwed but if not you will survive. One thing I must say is that if you survive, which you most likely will, the experience is something you would never imagine. The amount of energy the earth releases is awesome. Live to tell the tale.

M1.4....I'm also noticing a time warp and I wasn't quoting anyone.

Just saw a Taurid meteor-slow and orange-colored-nothing big though. If you go outside, Taurus is directly overheadyou'll the Pleiades and Aldebaran the red star. Moon is just setting, so it's a good time for meteor-watching.

The M1.4 is from Bohemeth 1339 (naturally).

Hey Guys..

Just got back after being out of town all day. Wow..I didn't even know that there had been an earthquake in OK, just about 200 miles from where I was today. I felt nothing..been on the road:/. Didn't feel that latest 3.8 aftershock here in N Texas now that I am back either, just two far away I guess. Interesting times for sure. Was a long day, I am exausted.
