Hugh M Eye User ID: 6544024 United States 12/04/2011 08:57 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | HI finley, Quoting: IwantToBelieve76 Hugh is mostly right, or always and rly he knows his stuff! maybe i was a bit to fast but anyways: :flarenewregion: made a screen from the flare(red circled), its a tiny spot and to the right there is another one(3 in all)..so hugh is right but this will be numbered as one...i stay to it...if im wrong i will post my real pic^^ and change my woody ones :D but i have to work a week now and im back sunday^^ so you have to wait HUGH peace...sry for my foolish one today.. Hey, it's all about teamwork. I'm so impressed with your graphics. Took me two hours and some new freeware to come up with this little piece of shit, LOL. :spotless1: It's rare to see C-flares from a spotless region, that's why I pointed it out. By now ( or maybe soon) a new spot will arise here. There's definitely a plage (whitish sandy-looking region). That's why I find the sun so interesting--there's spots w/o flares; flares w/o spots; big flares w/CMEs; big flares w/ no CMEs; and CMEs w/ no flare. The sun is the most mysterious and most important thing in the universe to Earthlings...and the experts are often guessing. making shit up, or just plain wrong. We have so much left too learn. God bless NINzrez and GLP for this opportunity for learning in the world's largest classroom. |

Quoting: gogo I wanted to know what you guys think.. Uh, I think it's bunk like most crazy Youtube UFO/Nibiru goofiness. I wish he posted links to his info so I didn't have waste an hour to find out. I'm not sure how that spot got there but I assure you it's not a planet-sized spaceship full of aliens-cloaked or un-cloaked. I found the raw images from the STEREO Ahead HI 1 for that CME and there's nothing there. It's seen on the SECCHI processed movie images so it's most likely an image-processing anomaly. The spot appears brightly at 23:29 and the next frame (conveniently left out of the Youtube video) at 00:09 there's no trace. Anyway here's raw HI1 image from 23:39. learner User ID: 6453594 United States 12/05/2011 11:14 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | meanwhile, the Geofield remains largely chaotic. again, this according to HAARP and Russian data (still looking for other reliable data centers that actually DELIVER the data they claim to have) looking at the long term HAARP data, ever since the "bell ringing" that happened 11/20 we can see a really long (2 week) cycle beginning to form - this in contrast to a daily rhythm that exists normally- with the components (particularly Bz) oscillating unusually. all this without really obvious causes, right? No CME's or flares since 11.22, right? even the Russian data (tho not nearly to the extent that HAARP data shows) shows unusual perturbations in the daily geofield cycle. not until i get a hold of good data and run it thru my own filters (unit conversions and Fourier Transforms) am i gonna be able to organize and display this stuff in any really meaningful way. -the search continues- like a "T" looked at sideways: u can't read it until you find the(a) correct viewpoint |
Hugh M Eye User ID: 6574656 United States 12/05/2011 11:28 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | from spaceweather: Quoting: Anonymous Coward 5212000 "Sunspot 1363 has developed a delta-class magnetic field that harbors energy for X-class solar flares." We just had a C4.7 flare from 1163. This is directly Earth-facing for the next few days and there's a 30% chance of an M-flare today. :flare4.7: See the region's growth in this animation: [link to www.spaceweather.com] |
Hugh M Eye User ID: 6574656 United States 12/05/2011 12:12 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Update 12/05/11: Here's a round-up of events and active regions for today. First, there was a CME yesterday from a filament eruption on the NW limb. This is not geo-effective. :cme1204a: STEREO Ahead: :cme1204b: We've seen an uptick in the X-ray flux activity with 8 C-flares in the past 24 hours: 3 from region 1362; 3 from the un-numbered region on the SE limb; and 2 from 1363. [link to www.lmsal.com] The new SE region that produced the 3 flares was formerly spotless, but has produced spots in less than 24 hrs. (as predicted by yours truly). Should be numbered 1368 shortly. Between this area and 1363 lies another small group of spots #1367. Towards the NE limb, region 1366 seems to be growing more spots and getting larger. 1362 seems to be deteriorating some and may soon be outdone by fast-growing 1365 just to the north. [link to sohowww.nascom.nasa.gov] A closer look at the new regions will be forthcoming. |

That site is a royal ass-pain. If you're a serious scientist/student/researcher their data can be had, but you'll need their permission to share any of it. You need to tediously select each parameter--choose region, monitor (109 monitors !), dates, data format, etc. They want your e-mail to send you a zip file of selected data. It's set up similar to the EPA data nodes. If you're a government-funded researcher or a grad student in physics I guess it's worth the hassle. They release a yearly set of "corrected" data on a CD Rom, but if they wanted the raw data to be accessible they'd have better web-based system. Although 42 countries contribute magnetic data the database nodes are run by France, UK, US, Canada (ie,NATO). You may want to get some zip file data from them just to see what the hell's in them. Or look into that CD Rom (2010 should be available). E-mail them if you have any other questions. [link to ottawa.intermagnet.org] |

Hugh M Eye User ID: 6595119 United States 12/05/2011 06:44 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | FAR OUT! NASA's Voyager spacecraft is 18 billion kilometers from the sun and has entered a new "stagnation region" (why not call it the "stagnatospere"?). Launched in 1977, V'ger hasn't reached interstellar space yet, but it's getting awfully close to the edge of the heliosphere. Solar wind speed is near zero and "gust erratically"; sometimes even blowing backwards(!) and energetic solar particles are now fewer by 50%. According to NASA/JPL news release, "At the same time, Voyager has detected a 100-fold increase in the intensity of high-energy electrons from elsewhere in the galaxy diffusing into our solar system from outside, which is another indication of the approaching boundary". :vger: oops, forgot links. Hugh M Eye User ID: 6595119 United States 12/05/2011 10:36 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | It appears to be a Romulan attack vessel uncloaking. Only kidding of course. I don't know what it is-most likely some strange reflections in the optics. Sometimes tiny pieces of insulation fall off and appear quite large in the lens--STEREO A has been getting peppered with CMEs lately. Y'know how they all seem to blast away at 90 degree angles from Earth; well that's where the STEREO crafts are more or less. The frame taken 15 mins. later appears normal. Strange to me is the fact that I usually use the other STEREO web-portal--and that image is mysteriously missing. Hmmmm. [link to stereo-ssc.nascom.nasa.gov] [link to stereo-ssc.nascom.nasa.gov] |
