check this out now guys the time and the comet scroll down see [ link to sohodata.nascom.nasa.gov] one image looks like it close then its more in then its back to being closer... I bet if you grab all the images right now an animate them it will look fed up Quoting: gogo Good eye, gogo! Thanks for pointing out the bad CACTUS link-for some reason they changed their numbering. Same CME loop should be here: [ link to www.sidc.oma.be] As far as the SOHO C3 images go, I believe the comets increased brightness distorts and enlarges its appearance as the pixels are saturated. To minimize this effect the spacecraft's controllers are frequently re-adjusting the aperture of the camera to compensate for the growing magnitude. It does create an interesting optical illusion.
