SDO hasn't updated for almost 6 hours. Unusual, though not unprecedented. I wonder if they're in a defensive mode from energetic solar particles? There was a filament liftoff in the NW close to the limb, but I doubt it will be geoeffective.

So far the IMF charge has been favorable to Earth- however it may flip-flop several times before these disturbances subside. This magnetic storm could last for a few days.
