shadasonic User ID: 7848598 United States 01/16/2012 09:13 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Coronal hole , seems we are letting alot of energy through right now We are getting a good ground hit off this, I can feel it, have been since yesterday. This looks to be long duration, could have some shaking the next couple days “One of the saddest lessons of history is this: If we’ve been bamboozled long enough, we tend to reject any evidence of the bamboozle. We’re no longer interested in finding out the truth. The bamboozle has captured us. It’s simply too painful to acknowledge, even to ourselves, that we’ve been taken. Once you give a charlatan power over you, you almost never get it back.” – Carl Sagan |

tomasgod1 User ID: 4888469 United States 01/16/2012 04:55 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | [link to www.swpc.noaa.gov] that our magnetosphere was fairly well disturbed throughout the day. POES, the Aurora Oval has been lit up throught the day as well. [link to www.swpc.noaa.gov] Again we see the disturbance measured by ground based magnetometers... [link to www.haarp.alaska.edu] and the GOES magnetometer.. [link to www.swpc.noaa.gov] The ACE Satellite measured the disturbance, and we can see the data visually interpreted at NICT. A combination of a CHHSS that was coupled with some of the material ejected from the CME on the 12th combines in a visual seen here. [link to www2.nict.go.jp] The CME was imaged by Stereo and SOHO. Stereo B Cor2 [link to stereo-ssc.nascom.nasa.gov] and SOHO LC2 [link to sohowww.nascom.nasa.gov] If those last two images look familiar they should. That CME was produced from the Active Region that produced todays CME; now having rotated a little nearer our direction. Finally, for comparison, here is todays SOHO LC2 image of the CME that accompanied the LDE C6.5 flare from late night > early this morning. [link to sohowww.nascom.nasa.gov] I would expect that we will see a slight geomagnetic disturbance from this event sometime on the 19th into the 20th. Sure wish somebody could put that piece of the puzzle together...Just seems like it is "more than luck" to me Quoting: <<LOOK`n thru YOU>> If anybody can put it all together,...it will be you good folks here.
