I know this is probably a stupid question to pose but hell I'm brave and you guys are so nice....Why do they renumber the sunspots when they come back around? It seems it would be easier to track the bad boys if the number stayed the same.
Quoting: Southern OR It's from when we couldn't track them around the back of the sun. Still need more equipment round the back to fully track them.
