SOLAR WATCH * Huge X8.2 Flare Sept. 10, 2017! (Updated Daily)

Bad hair day...the magnetic field tentacles from 1429 are connecting to the north pole region to the edge of the southern coronal hole. There's a pretty strong interaction with 1428 in the southern hemisphere as well.

An evolving symmetry between 1430 and 1429 is something we'll have watch as they seem to possess opposite polarities.

There is someone else wo has been aluding to a 188 Day Cycle for large Earthquakeswith realtion to the Sun..interesting : )

Yes,I had noticed the arc between 1429 and 28 also..monster!

I think 1430 should be a trailer spot of 1429 but due to 29 being flipped I think they could possibly merge or at the least throw some crazy shapes..what do you think!

Radiation Blast From Sun May Threaten Satellites-

This wave of solar plasma will mostly miss hitting Earth, but some spacecraft, including NASA's sun-watching Stereo B satellite, the Messenger spacecraft at Mercury and the agency's infrared Spitzer Space Telescope, are in path of the resulting radiation storm, according to scientists at the Space Weather Center at NASA's Goddard Space Flight Center in Greenbelt, Md.

"It's a shower of radiation, and this high-energy radiation can impact spacecraft and some of the instruments," Yihua Zheng, a lead researcher at the Space Weather Center, told SPACE.com. "Stereo B has already seen some radiation, but we don't have real-time data from the other spacecraft, so we don't know for sure. But, based on the location and the size of the CME, we think those spacecraft are likely to receive a high dose of radiation."

Solar Lightning-


Coronal arches and multiple loop structures connect sunspots and rise up to penetrate the chromosphere. The chromosphere is a plasma sheath, or double layer region of the Sun, where most of its electrical energy is contained. When the current flowing into the Sun’s plasma sheath increases beyond a critical threshold it can trigger a sudden release of that energy, causing solar flares and enormous prominence eruptions.

Powerful looping electric currents generate secondary toroidal magnetic fields that surround the loop. When the current grows too strong, the plasma double layer is destroyed. That event interrupts the current flow and the stored electromagnetic energy is blasted into space as a solar flare. Solar flares can therefore be thought of as tremendous lightning bursts, discharging vast quantities of matter at near relativistic speeds.

Looks like we are staring right down the barrel.

DOUBLE-WHAMMY-Upon further analysis, I believe there were two CMEs launched early on the 6th. A CME from an M1-flare at approx. 04:00 utc and and the second from another M1 @ approx. 08:00 utc. The second CME blasted underneath the expanding canopy of the first CME. They'll most likely be merged together before they reach the Earth. The two separate pulses are most easily observed on the STEREO B movie.

I think in this image you can see 1429 strting to onnect more with 1430..the loop around the bottom of 29 looks like it's feeding toward 30 and the arc above 30 going toward 29: [link to www.swpc.noaa.gov]

btw..just checked the date on my first upload and it was actually back in the first part of January, so I'm still learning about editing etc. I really need to work on those skills. IWTB is a good role model IMO. I aspire to get 1/2 as good as he is at editing assuming I ever get around to it

Geophysical Activity Forecast: The geomagnetic field is expected to be unsettled to active for day 1 (06 Mar) due to combined effects from the M4/CME event observed on 04 March and a favorably positioned coronal hole high speed stream. Active conditions with a chance for minor storm periods are forecast for the second day (07 Mar) due to a expected glancing blow from today's X1/full halo CME. Predominantly unsettled levels are expected for the third day (08 Mar).

The ENLIL CME Model appears to show CME arrival (glancing blow) at approx. 05:00 UTC on the 7th (+/- 6 hrs.). NASA's forecast was way off again. The most recent CMEs have not been added to the forecast yet.

We are already experiencing the internet outages. I have never seen the internet so choppy, goes in and out very frequently. Especially during the day. Has got to be energetic neutron proton raining in as we speak.
