UPDATED: As per the SDO-EVE Plot, this solar flare was most likely a minor C6 or C7.

Has to be malfunctioning...the density is above 40 and the speed over 800 and the image in red only?

I was talking about magnetosphere real time simulation...

We will know when the IP shock hits the boulder magnetometer. We will get the deviation at that time and we will get an idea of how this is going to be.

Rats ! I was using this as a substitute for x ray flux but now it died. Was estimated (by me) between a M5 and X1 before it croaked.

No no no!

That is the DRAP chart for radio frequency absorbtion affected by protons in the ionosphere. It is saturated because we are having a SEP (Solar Energetic Particle)event with a PCA (polar cap absorbtion). Additional Solar flares are going to light it up because the ionosphere is already saturated. Here, I wrote an article on this earlier this morning.

Data gone down all over the place so I would guess so.

I dont know why it shut down. I do know that it is one of the instruments that is very sensitive to contamination. The other sensors are still working ok for now..haha
