It's nice to see they left everything up and running this time so that we get these beautiful simulations from NICT [ link to www2.nict.go.jp] Can't imagine what it would have looked like when the winds were 998k/s and in the middle of an S4 storm. It looks scary, but the magnetosphere is doing a bang up job of protecting us this AM. Right around 9:00 UTC (5 EST with DST) seems to be the highest spike in activity in regard to protons and solar wind speed , so far. [ link to www2.nict.go.jp]
