Good morning everyone hf

Has anyone come up with a good theory, educated guess on the absorption maps yet ???

If our poles are our weakest points, why would the electron concentration be closer to the equator during a "non-solar event", and not necessarily dictated on whether sol facing or not ???

When looking at the the absorption maps during quiet periods in the past, there is a slight variation of increased absorption in sol facing areas, but never this significant unless we are in the midst of a strong geomagnetic storm.

Current absorption maps:

The one I typically use has been down for a long time now.

And thanks Old Guard, for pointing out the SUPER hot spot over Hawaii in the Pacific last night, it's not making a lot of sense !!
