So get ready....funny how they get a rhythm like a heartbeat.. Good Morning Guys  ,I have been watching Region 1476 since very early this morning on SDO and JHelioviewer. This region is ready to unleash a massive flare. The magnetic loops are larger than they have ever been with this region since it rotated into view, and when they snap should be big! This will probably send a big CME along as well. Here are a couple of images I composed of the magnetic loop complexity with the help of JHelioviewer as of 11:00 UTC. I have been waiting for the pics to get approved, but will just go ahead and post them now. So far all three of the large geo-effective solar disturbances that have happened this year have coincided with 90deg alignments between earth and another planet. In early Jan it was Venus. In early March it was Mercury. Now in May both Mercury and Uranus. -getting to be a bit of a pattern, here, no?- |
