Old Sol's perking up a bit today...10 C-flares already. The biggest a C 9.1 from AR1499, which is directly Earth-facing. [ link to www.lmsal.com] Large filaments are also imbedded near 1498 and 1499. [ link to www.solarmonitor.org] Recent activity can be seen on the Big Bear H-alpha movie: [ link to halpha.nso.edu] It looks like a small filament is loosening at 1493 now.
