I wouldn't put too much stock in that high-energy proton plot. First of all that spike is way off the timeline for flare & CME. Most likely bad data or some sort of glitch.

The ACE satellites obituary has been written many times yet it seems to chug along. However, we do see bad data sometimes and drop-outs in some of the plots. The solar wind data seems to be current, so I really don't know what's going on with the particle detectors. We'll have to keep watching and see what develops. The wear and tear of 15 years of radiation may be compromising some of the circuits. I'm hoping and praying we get another year or two out of this satellite, cause it'll take years to replace it.
