A shock arrived around 9:00 UT this morning, June 16. The solar wind speed measured by the satellite ACE at the L1 point is 400 km/s. This might be related to the CME that left the Sun on June 13 and the CME of June 14. The magnetic field imbedded in the solar wind is fluctuating up to a maximum value of 10nT. The Bz component is also fluctuating between negative and positive values. Geomagnetic disturbances are possible. We expect the local K to stay below 5. The flaring activity is moderate: C-flares"

not sure if she has gone to waste, our magnetosphere wont think so anyway over the next couple of days!

I'm grateful for the square hit but a few jabs while we are rockin would be entertaining. Here in South Wales we need an X or some CME combos to catch of the aurora. Very rare but bleepin amazin!

Out of all of them, I actually trust the Russian's more than the rest, other than their own National Security I think they have a lot of the same transparent interest in making progress instead of trying to take over the world. I have been to Russia a few times, met a lot of real decent people, and they are naturals at working in space.

I have never seen the "Coke bottle" look before, but very simplistic representation - the pic.s using a faster supercomputer show the field twisted like a bowl of spaghetti

Looks pretty mild so far, but I don't think the second CME has arrived yet. If the speed estimates were correct (1000-1360 km/s) , we should see the SW higher than 400 km/s.

The density is slowly rising over the recent hours
i believe the brunt of the CME has not yet hit
