Hugh M Eye User ID: 19372178 United States 07/14/2012 02:42 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | There will be damage to the power grid? Must I unplug my computer from the power plugs? Quoting: Solar Guardian No, you don't need to unplug anything, it's not like a lightning bolt. Keep your batteries fully charged or have extras on hand, just in case. The most at-risk areas for power grid problems are closer to the poles (think South Africa, Argentina, Canada, Northern Europe, etc) and tropics are the least at-risk area. Above all, DON'T PANIC! |
NiNzrez (OP) User ID: 12844841 United States 07/14/2012 02:45 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | So this means what? We flying blind here or do we have other options for info? Sorry for the questions just kind of freaky. My oldest son, a man eating shark antichrist of a defense attorney (whom I adore), just walked in and said that it is weird as hell outside, and that people are acting different tonight. The reason I describe him like that is because he is the type of guy that does not just say stuff, he is kind of a hard ass logical type. Quoting: Vesper33 flying blond a little bit we still have some data, just not all data we would like to have things sure are weird out and about i will agree some other posters were sharing earlier how odd they felt and how the air feels charged Join Me On The GLP SOLAR WATCH Thread Thread: SOLAR WATCH * Huge X8.2 Flare Sept. 10, 2017! Quoting: Anonymous Coward 19725305 we r going to see auroras as far as indiana or I'm wrong? [link to www.swpc.noaa.gov] It's quite possible, but the storm hasn't even begun yet. No one can say exactly how strong or how long the storm conditions will persist. Keep checking back with this thread tomorrow and keep your fingers crossed. I personally think your chances for aurora are pretty good. |
