Why is space weather. com down? “One of the saddest lessons of history is this: If we’ve been bamboozled long enough, we tend to reject any evidence of the bamboozle. We’re no longer interested in finding out the truth. The bamboozle has captured us. It’s simply too painful to acknowledge, even to ourselves, that we’ve been taken. Once you give a charlatan power over you, you almost never get it back.” – Carl Sagan |

Did anyone see the episode of Myth Busters, wherein they had a flame thrower versus a fire extinguisher? That is what this reminded me of...as if the CME was slowed by 'fluffy' enough to take the BOOM out of the impact.. Anonymous Coward User ID: 19788089 United States 07/15/2012 12:50 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Poes auroral oval stopped updating at 2012 Jul 15 0224 for a long time then just updated to 02:57UT. This normally updates every 20 min and is then up to the min upon updating, not 2 hrs behind! Quoting: tomasgod1 Initially looking at the magnetopause from CCMC/ Bastrus and Pixie it looks as though the magnetopause has been pushed back a couple of times past Geosynchronous orbit. I thought that they may have put it in safe mode, but it is updating, just 2 hrs behind; which makes it useless other than for cataloging historical data. I know saw the same thing, the pause took more of a hit with the flare than this CME, all data is suspicious at this point, aggravating! Looking at density, speed, proton, and electron values it doesn't look anything like the blast properties I saw in initial ejecta time shift? seriously |

Quoting: Anonymous Coward 19297584 I had a feeling the thread would hit 1k over this X-flare. Have a bump on me. GOES is still flatlined and that has me worried... the last thing we need is another build up and sudden boot in the ass on the heels of the last one. You did mention Amaretto Cheesecake first. I give you full credit for originating the "code word" and it has proven to be effective at getting the attention of the regulars for the ACs. I have used it with pretty positive results and thank you for stumbling upon the code word that allows ACs to get attention on this thread. Unless you object, I will continue to use it when I am really want a response from the likes of NiNzrez et al. Let me know if you object and kudos to you. ;) |

Maybe our planets polarity is changing and we aren't connecting with the suns plasma at this point, aconjunction of super symmetry at a planetary unification. I don't know pulling theories out of my ass, but somethings off! “One of the saddest lessons of history is this: If we’ve been bamboozled long enough, we tend to reject any evidence of the bamboozle.
