This is the exact reason why we are always concerned about the orientation of these CMEs. The ion temp has dropped dramatically, the wind speed is down, the proton count is low now but this long continued -BznT is continuing to drive the Kp up. Shields are "down" and the solar particles are flowing in at the poles.
