The only time I really start worrying about our earth's mag is when you see the bright yellows and reds inside the dotted circle encompassing the earth. This means that the magnetosphere has been penetrated, and has left the earth vulnerable. I saw one instance (I didn't catch the time), and when this happens you will see a a gap in the mags resistance, visually you will see red and yellow on the curvature both north and south, and a blue gap in the center of the mag field. Seeing a solid mag field compress on the earth only means it is doing it's job of protecting us from solar activity that is only destined to get stronger, so this is a good thing. Love those shades of blue within the dotted circle (satellite orbit) |
