SOLAR WATCH * Huge X8.2 Flare Sept. 10, 2017! (Updated Daily) | |
Anonymous Coward User ID: 1540313 United States 09/01/2012 03:07 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | you can now see the CME cloud on the 3rd frame for the HI2 Quoting: NiNzrez [link to stereo-ssc.nascom.nasa.gov] the blacker areas on the image are of more dence areas the more black, the more dence DAMN the good new is that its still a bit out there, so we have more time to go over data on this one you can look here to see where Earth is on the HI2 images [link to stereo.gsfc.nasa.gov] the very front of the CME cloud will hit soon, but its the blacker more dence area behind it that has me a bit worried Yes, I guess it depends upon how tightly packed the ejecta stays while it heads our way. Plasma is scary stuff. |

Seismometers measure earthquakes associated with magma and gas movement beneath the surface, while global positioning system (GPS) instruments measure swelling of a volcano due to magma accumulation underground. just downgraded to a 1.8 [link to earthquake.usgs.gov] have to keep it off that main big quake map, ya know ^^ Lots of small quakes under the volcanos near me, too- Mt. Lassen and the giant Mt. Shasta. I live close, so keep my eye on activity there, thanks for this post Nin. My folks live in Grass Valley :) Yes, they need to keep watch, too. |

Can any of you tell if the denser areas will stay for front and center or like a whip, is won't matter? Newbie question, I know, but the only way to learn is to ask when you don't understand something Isaiah 5:20 KJV Woe unto them that call evil good, and good evil; that put darkness for light, and light for darkness; that put bitter for sweet, and sweet for bitter! NiNzrez (OP) User ID: 12844841 United States 09/01/2012 04:09 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | The Sun just rippled over most of the NW quadrant- so elastic, wow! I be back shortly Suncrew. looking at todays movie on SDO in the gold filter, we can see there is some very active magnetic activity going on around sunspot 1560 Quoting: NiNzrez also looking at the magnetogram i can see some major fast growth within this region today, as well as connectivity between this region and the sunspots in the southeastern region if this continues, we could see a good sized flare very soon, as well as a possible CME coming from this area [link to sdo.gsfc.nasa.gov] wow, also something else i just noticed look at the movie for all of today in the Red filter, and watch the entire top right (northwest) section you can see the wave of plasms that was from the filament ejection in the southeast (bottom left), then a few min later you can see that wave go up over the whole top right like a wave of plasma went over the whole earth facing side of the sun with this event 1st time i have personaly ever seen this happen amazing Join Me On The GLP SOLAR WATCH Thread Thread: SOLAR WATCH * Huge X8.2 Flare Sept. 10, 2017! madajs User ID: 6377684 Canada 09/01/2012 04:43 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | As NiN mentioned previously, AR1560 may add some fireworks to the celebration. Sunspot AR1560 has more than quadrupled in size since August 30th, and now the fast growing active region is directly facing our planet: movie. NOAA forecasters estimate a 40% chance of M-class solar fares during the next 48 hours.
