Two nearly simultaneous eruptions can be seen in the Big Bear movie and the SDO close-up movie. Pretty cool. Hugh M Eye User ID: 22914370 United States 09/08/2012 05:21 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Thanks, Mr. Splinter, nice close-up shot there. However the title of the vid is misleading. The video shows AR1562, not 1560. The M 1.4 flare was recorded by Solarsoft as coming from 1564. [link to www.lmsal.com] In my opinion, the X-ray flux recorded the cumulative x-rays from two C 8 flares (approximately) from both 1564 & 1562, that's why I posted the vids showing both regions erupting. I believe there's a close connection between these two. Maybe we'll see another double-shot soon. Last Edited by Hugh M Eye on 09/08/2012 05:24 PM |

I was/am trying to make a vid of the area using the filters shown on yer lmsal vid, but I cannot get it to save to YT. I have had intermittent problems with helioviewer saving to YT in the past, so if'n I can get it saved, I'll share it. Those filters (131, 171, and 193) are nice because the flares will often show reddish. Nice catch...I should've caught the vid makers error. "I have no special talents. Yes, I've had problems accessing STEREO and SDO today Try the iSWA site for Stereo images, they're pretty up-to-date there. No CME from the M (or dual C) flare...I've been checking SOHO and STEREO A (thru iSWA). We have another slow simmer ongoing now. [link to www.swpc.noaa.gov] |

[link to www.swpc.noaa.gov] Hey Hugh :) yeah i have all those sites saved as well my point with this is more of the fact that the STEREO and now i see SDO site are both blocking access to traffic to view images we know that these are the main sites most use to view images for events for anyone who wants to see the latest SDO images, here is a good working link [link to sdodata.oma.be] but this still leaves the question on why access is forbidden to the STEREO site images :/ |

madajs User ID: 6377684 Canada 09/08/2012 07:32 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | No sign of any CME from the M 1.4 yet. If there was one, it would definitely be geoeffective. However there was a big flare and CME on the far side about 12 hours ago from somewhere beyond the SW limb. This CME may be the x-ray source of the slow C2.8 flare very early today.
