Since the big one is traveling faster, the second one can reach one sooner because the first one clean the way first right?

Our magnetosphere may be weakened from the first blast, but nothing is etched in stone.

One of the coolest things shown on that capture is how well this thing seems to sweep up everything...note the large purple area(close to zero readings) behind the CME.

This is definitely one of the most dense CMEs that I have seen coming at us.

It's a good idea to check out ElQ and Gabe's threads after we get hit. Especially after the "rebound" of the magnetosphere. They have some good insight. (another much misunderstood subject but my gut says they are related to solar activity). Great stuff today, BTW!

I would really like to know how they came up with this. The CME just doesn`t look that strong on SDO, STereo etc.

That "Big One" would appear to be the Backside CME talked about here; [link to www.spaceweather.com]
Check the time, 10:55 9/27/2012. Now look at Stereo A [link to stereo.gsfc.nasa.gov] It shows a Backside CME at that time. However, if you check the "Model" around that time, it doesn't show a Backside CME. It shows one headed towards Earth. It has to be the "same" CME, Check the Time [link to postimage.org] Where is the Large Backside CME on that sequence? It would appear the Model was wrong...again. It showed the Backside CME headed toward Earth. That's NOT what the Stereo Images show. I always check the Images. I never have really trusted those models.

Well, that's what it looks like to me, at this time. The images don't show any large CME headed toward Earth and I have checked all the Stereo Images. We will see. but, I'm afraid it was just another Bogus model.
