I find it strange that the measured disturbance is not matching ACE data.. furthermore the ACE temp, speed and density figures all have an odd structure and patterned behavior that I wouldn't expect from a wad of protons. Watch....if it stays at 6.9 they'll round it off to 6.0. They've done it before. Just FYI, Boulder and NOAA Kp are not the same. So what happens in Boulder does not necessarily happen on NOAA Kp. Boulder is one magnetometer, NOAA Kp is about 8 magnetometers averaged out. (The alerts are tied to NOAA's Kp estimate, not Boulder) And the reason it's always rounded out at the end of the 3 hour period is because there are no decimals in the K-index. That's why this [link to www.swpc.noaa.gov] is always whole numbers too, because NOAA Kp isn't proper Kp and actually is only a K-index average of multiple magnetometers. Kp has 3 classes per value, -, o, and +. K has just one class per value, that is the number. In short, NOAA "Kp" is very crude lol. Good Luck. I also hope NINz, TS66, Madajs, Cesium, IWTB76 and everybody else up north (or down under) get a glimpse.
