I know there's heavy spraying in advance of low pressure systems. It's all very subjective depending on your location, so perhaps places like Sweden and other polar regions see more at different times than, say, Arizona. I don't believe the 'trails are high enough to directly affect the ionosphere. However, H.A.A.R.P. is a multi-purpose instrument and it's potentials are unknown to the general public. I believe the trails are for numerous reasons, it would be nice to have some actual info on what affects us all. I do know they start trailing heavy 2 days before CME hits, but I've seen them trail for weeks at a time when solar anomalies are low. I have tracked them now going on 8 months and it definitely picks up around solar storm time. There are some who believe anything that fires from that region will geoeffectively hit us as a whip around magnetic draw,read a report on it at sometime,plus its polarity works as a tightened spiral. No joke, sticks in my mind, will look to find the info. Yes,most events around the South-West Limb do become Geo-effective due to the Magnetic Portals created via the Earth/Sun Magnetic tethers.
