Or would these Protons only be affected by a more recent event? these proton spikes seem to occuring more frequently of late, this large spike could be many things, but the frequency of their occurance is of concern...i dont think the spike is related to this CME or the CH... They are potentially very dangerous to Planets Esp. during a powerful CME as the resulting mass jumble of associated Fields of the Coronal Plasma and Filamentary Polarities combine. I would like to know the Spectrum of Elements within the majority of Filaments,potential way to infer the current composition and stage our Sun is currently at.
