Thank you for alerting me to that Shads,I had just popped over to YT for a little while. I'm not sure what is causing this as the Polarities appear fine on the ACE data. If you look on the individual updates on that site you can see the Cap Fields have been almost pushed out of the picture for the last Hour+ and what may be happening is the IMF or Closed Field has configurated in such a way as to bunch up/trap that Field. We have to remember that these are only Simulations based on previously observed data sets and variables,these variables are,well,variable so what we see may be due to a changing environment - Or more simply,because we have incoming and we know the medium in front of the leading edge of CMEs' etc. can itself become squished(for want of a better term).
