I checked that just prior to your post and sorta wondered if there are any threads that reference the greatest solar storms on record. it would be cool if somebody did the research and started a thread about it. that is a great source btw Hello Redux : ) I did'nt actually notice that link,it is very cool indeedly,thank you Isis. We have(a few times)gone over Great Solar Storms in here but it would be a good idea to get a thread going of 'The Suns Greatest Hits' that would include those from history as well as being updated with any new special Solar Events for sure though,I'm not feeling up to OP'ing it,I'd be more than happy to help out as would others I'm sure  I've thought about it several times but it would take much research to do it right and to be honest I'm not adept enough imo. I've got a few links that may help tho if any solar aficionados are interested.
