Hi Dettro, yes, I think SC had a still of that up the other day, we discussed it a bit, I think one of those is going to fly off and be born into a new planetary body one of these days.
 Quoting: Isis One

I just went back and found SC's post of the 'free plasma' 4:28ish am on the 25th, page 1498, but the link won't work now hmmmm

Sorry for the double AGAIN...I'm having some puter issues

I just went back to find the post SC made, it was about 4:20ish am on the 25th on page 1498. However, the link of the free floating plasma SC posted is now broken, I can't pull the image up, hmmmmm
 Quoting: Isis One

I remember that conversation. It birthed its own plasma planet, and something like we've got a wandering plasm star

Drap hhas picked up nicely in the last two hours,so some protons are making some racket, but I agree they are coming up way short.
We're in a dense fluff/ oort cloud mixture right now, they seem to have some say in a few things. Heres the thing the fluff is a mix of small amounts of helium particles and large amounts of hydrogen, and dense particle pockets could be HUUUUGE. So lets consider the fact that particle compilation could easily have its own polarity, and we may have a large buffering effect going on, but this could also change depending on the varience of particle makeup as we travel through this blanket. We could wake up tomorrow and get all the energy we can handle. We live in unprecedented days my friend! Peace

We have a nice round of M flares that give decent CMEs, that never seem to materialize, but we have SS progression going on. I think we'll see a big change as our location shifts just ever so slightly. It will soon make sense.

Here's a Grade A sun-noob question for you guys... Why is certain footage of the sun depicted with an artificially inserted disc occluding the sun?

like this:

[link to www.youtube.com]

Is this footage coming from a particular satelliete that's utilizing a type of lens that is not equipped to film the naked sun?

What does the white circle represent. The actual size of the sun's core?

Never understood this. Thanks for your help.

The white circle is the sun, the occulting disc is to show the coronas energy and to block pixel bleedoff. They all have them to some degree.

Hi Anhe, you purdy much have it figured out yourself. Yes that is an occulting disc installed in some instruments to protect the lens. I think the disc pretty much covers the the whole sun, not just the sun's core.

That eruption near 1621 in the NE was pretty big and may have ejected some plasma. A hyder flare in the shape of a backwards "S" looks pretty cool in the composite SDO images:

[link to sdo.gsfc.nasa.gov]

:NEhyder:

Notice in the background our new friend AR1623(?) coming over the limb. It looks HUGE--it's a new region as it wasn't listed as a returning SS.

Re: SOLAR WATCH * Huge X8.2 Flare Sept. 10, 2017! (Updated Daily)
I think the first COR1 image I posted was especially interesting.
this one..

I've never seen ripples like that before (top right) and at the same time the Sun seems to be surrounded by something which might be from a tsunami? But then five minutes later there is nothing happening.

VERY strange imo..

wow

that's one of the strangest CME's I've seen.

I went looking for the ejecta on Stereo Behind EUVI 195 and there coincidentally was a data gap from 10:20-13:15

here's the last image before the gap
[link to stereo-ssc.nascom.nasa.gov]

COR1 also had a data gap from 10:25-13:15.

here's the first dif image after the gap which I thought was interesting

and five minutes later

here's a COR2 dif gif from 13:25-14-25

I don't have a clue why it wouldn't look sort of similar to COR1 but then again I'm not that familiar with the Stereo images.

why would the second COR1 image not show anything? scratching

Yep, thats the ejection we were talking about the other day, absolutely amazing. I've not seen anything quite like it. Don't know why the images don't look similar.

I'll have to check that out, I must have been drifting off at the time chuckle

Me either, very interesting, there is a repeating pattern, I think its kind of like the flower of life, of sacred geometry, then some other pattern off the top right. That pic from the other day of the strange free-form plasma is no longer available and SC's not around to ask where he got it from.

I think the ripples might be from a gamma ray burst?
