I think IMHUMBLEO it is just part of the farside events from the SOHO movie I posted above.

I think we are in for some possible action once it rotates around from the east.

For a CME .... sure.

Take a look at these images (it includes the farside CME on lasco 3 they are talking about) and their timestamps.

[link to sohodata.nascom.nasa.gov]

Here's the LASCO3 images ...

[link to sohodata.nascom.nasa.gov]

gaah !!!!!! Sorry Angel you'll have to look for yourself.

Go to [link to sohodata.nascom.nasa.gov]

Highlight LASCO 2 or 3 , highlight images, then search. Nothing else.

Cesium, check out the earth facing filament on SDO ang 304 around 1623/25 above and to the left. I think you pointed it out on halpha last night, but on SDO you can see a definite separation, close to lift off. Rather faint being directly earth facing, and I couldn't capture it properly to post here.
 Quoting: TS66

Hello : )

Sorry for the late reply, just conversing with SO and others on YT quickly.

I tried to watch on the SDO Movies I use but the definition is'nt good enough, but I can see on H alpha a lot of faint Filaments from the North-East to the Mid-North and Center that all appeared to flux at the time of the Double Prominence Eruption [link to halpha.nso.edu] you may have to get quite close to the screen to see this writhing disappearing/reappearing Filament action but it is there for sure - I think in the last Week there has been some changes in the Magnetism of our Sun as I have watched Filaments(though only very small bits)migrating about the disc.

Also the Lines in these images are showing more Field Lines in the North than were the last Couple of Weeks [link to sdo.gsfc.nasa.gov] .

The Beasts in the East are looking very lively just over the Rainbow, according to the Farside HMI/GONG images the regions appear no-where near the limb but the Magnetograms say otherwise,Farside [link to gong2.nso.edu] <--- Rubbish hey!?

Look at the Magnetograms [link to sdo.gsfc.nasa.gov] [link to sdo.gsfc.nasa.gov] <--- They seem to show them right on or just beyond the limb, totally unlike the Farside HMI/GONG imaging.

I find it baffling that those Calibrated Images are quite often really quite off yet supposedly we use similar techniques(and others)to gather data on Extra-Solar Stars Sunspots' - If we can't even get some of the more basic data correct for our own Star how in the Uni-verse do the Astrophysicists trust their inferred data on other Stars - For example the big issue of the rate of Convection being so far off in new findings from our own Star that(if correct)requires of us a completely different theory/theories to explain the processes that generate Sunspots and the Suns' overall Magnetic Field.

Seriously...whadafak!?

 Quoting: Spittin'Cesium

LOL, I agree, and as Shada pointed out on Gabe's thread, how do we know how much solar info is manipulated, just as USGS is in regard to EQs ....

Take what we can get and run with I guess wink

This is the area I was speaking of ... it is faint, I can see it on the SDO movie, but can't capture it on the helioviewer. verysad

Just an FYI anyway hf

:fila123:
 Quoting: TS66

Yes,that is what we have to settle for,we can always(and do)interpret the data ourselves anyhoo' : )

Thank you for outlining the region of interest you mentioned,it is hard to make out a Filament in that region on the H alpha images(there is something very faint)but I can see it a bit better on the 304 image you show...if there is a Filament in that area it can't be too stable as the Magnetic Field Lines above and around that area are very diffuse and not tightly bunched up as we see in areas of larger Filaments, here [link to sdo.gsfc.nasa.gov] .

The C2 [link to sohodata.nascom.nasa.gov] does also appear darker than normal, thank you for alerting us Angelsunhf

It may be a Yearly event when our Sun is backgrounded by the Galactic Dust causing a darker image,I'll need to see other images from this crossing to see if they appeared the same/similar.

Actually both. Just thinking about how that CME would effect us and why the area is dark - unless it is a dead zone like what is facing us at the moment.

It is strange hey!?

I have seen similar before but not this extent.

In the past I have put it down to either a)Relative Light difference and Helmet Streamer Positions or,b)Lasco Cluster Fuck in processing.

It could be the sudden change in the direction and apparent brightness of the Streamers(more on Helmet Streamers) [link to en.wikipedia.org] but I don't think it is a processing problem as the image looks very crisp and fine at the Bottom and Top apart for the Dark Background at the Top.

I'm going to assume it is 'a' for now.

For now.

Very cool and strange thoughnoclue
