there was a channel eruption in the south east, and it caused an event where the entire east side of the earth facing southern coronal hole is dissapearing in on itself [ link to sdo.gsfc.nasa.gov] Hello NiNz : ) I cannae' find it capitano? Still on the Protons,the South-West Prominence/Filament eruption did put out a fair bit of energy,here is the super-hot passband 94 Angstroms [ link to sdodata.oma.be] I'm thinking they could very well be related to that event. I can't remember where Earths' footpoint tether is on the disk,that info would help alot!   Here ya go, SC-it's just west of the coronal hole. [ link to iswa.ccmc.gsfc.nasa.gov] if you watch the movie for all of today, Dec 14th in the AIA 094, 335, 193 filter you will see the event im speaking of on the very eastern edge of the large southern coronal hole i believe this is the event that caused todays proton event that is ongoing, and as Hugh pointed out, it is very close to where Earths footprint is for today i have not been on all day till now, so i still have to run through some data to see whats what after having the bad dream i did last night, then seeing the news today, i did not want to be anywhere near any source of media. i just cant see that stuff happening on the planet i live on. it tears my heart out :(
