DOH! I apologize for the STEREO link above. I just noticed STEREO hasn't updated since yesterday (?!). The same region was flaring today although that's NOT the correct movie....so sorry.

A weird day all around today. I can't recall the STEREO website skipping a whole day of imagery, but luckily we didn't miss much. NOAA seems to have messed up (again) by the declaring AR1632 a spotless plage; when in fact it appears to be growing and responsible for most of the flares today. Solarsoft seems to agree with me this time.

Anyway, I see spots and they're growing and flaring-(1632 is SW of the big spot)-

The returning region 1621 has been spitting out tongues of plasma today beyond the eastern limb. This may be the only hope for major Mayan meltdown next week. Old Sol isn't cooperating with the False Prophets of Solar Doom, hehe.

Hugh, I posted a link for today's Stereo images through their FTP earlier today :-)

I'm not sure why they have the images but don't have them posted to browse through the website... but the link again is

for up to a few hours ago, more recent images will need you to navigate to the higher directory and change the date since it is now the 17th UTC.

I did see that earlier. Thank you for posting, my Anonymous Friend! I find those servers hard to navigate and there's no link I can post for everybody to gawk at. I also found the movies to be incomplete or not playable on my machine. But I did find a STEREO Behind EUVI image showing that oncoming region (old 1621) which was acting up today. Thank you again, kind person.
