WOW, why is the Sun so quiet lately. Who would've imagined that December 2012 would be the lowest solar output of the year? I can only find three flares bigger than C2 the entire month so far. This lull is getting too monotonous. Now even the filament eruptions are getting scarce.

Maybe 1635 will give us a much-needed wake-up call. To my eyes, this active region looks much larger than the 110 millionths specified by NOAA.
