Did you notice how the Comet is hardly visible on C2 yet in the Magneto Image it is much more pronounced...it actually looks like it is a way behind the Sun rather than approaching 'Earth side' though that is more than likely just a trick of the eye.

Spaceweather.com has reported the Sunspot Number now at 167 and that should increase again tomorrow. AR1640 is getting huge but not much flaring so far. If it pops soon we may see a proton event. AR1650 in the SE has produced 4 of the last 5 C-flares and each gets more powerful, too.

M producer just coming around the corner. The polarity of the fields between the north and south are very clear,with 1640 being the exception.

Seems things are on the rise, 8.1 quake in southern Alaska downgraded to 7.8.

fun fact of the day: the 7+ Alaska quake today occurred at 08:58utc and there was a M flare a half hour later at 09:31utc

SIDC-COMMENT: An M1.7 flare was observed at 09:31 UT, it originated at an
active region at the east limb that will rotate into view today. NOAA
ARs 1640 and 1650 produced C-class flares. Activity at the C level is
expected and probably more M-class events. Geomagnetic conditions are
quiet. The effect of a small coronal hole is expected to be seen at the
Earth between 24 and 48 hours, increasing geomagnetic conditions
(probably up to active levels).

I'm somewhat suprised we aren't riding in a constant mid C range with so many spots facing us.

so not to be a harper...but....
the responses to my "where the heck is the sun in the galaxy and or universe?"...
well pretty pictures not even close to scientific and scale.
and pure speculation in articles....

where are the JPL's charts with data and numbers.
using stars that are millions and billions of light years away...well if we are 1/4" off here on earth could put us million or billions of miles off in any predictions.
spins wobbles and electromagnetic fields all over in the universe make all this just guesses!

from what i have read the best minds give position of just crossing the galactic plane thousands of years in all directions.

i do not think we as humans really have any idea where the sun is in our galaxy yet alone this universe.

is there any data coming from voyagers to help decide what might be the leading side of the sun in it's travel?

just a thought on our suns placement in the universe.....

i was just thinking how the moon is in orbit around the earth and is rotating but the same side is always facing the earth.

now do we see this, or even have the tech to see this happen with planets to their suns. or even suns to their galactic centers?

or even more so....would a sun be in orbit and the rotation always facing the direction it is headed?
