Very strange large CME may be Earth-directed. It wasn't easy to find the source for this eruption. It's not visible on the H-alpha scopes and just barely visible on the STEREO A EUVI and the SDO imagery in the SW. This from Dept. of Commerce Discussion- .24 hr Summary... Solar activity has been low. Region 1654 (N09W88) produced a C1 flare at 20/1432 UTC as it continued to rotate around the west limb. Region 1660 showed areal growth to 120 millionths during the period and is now considered a Dri-beta type spot group. A CME, possibly associated with a filament eruption in the southwest quadrant, became visible in LASCO C2 imagery around 21/0848 UTC. Further analysis will be conducted as more imagery becomes available.
