the sun is becoming more active in 2013 (just as i predicted)
should be an interesting year
Quoting: Anonymous Coward 831180 Highlighted - Good one UKAC : ) 2013 has been pegged by most all as the Year for Solar Max. Peak, though it is a bit of a damp squib so far to be completely hounest. Have a look at this [ link to wso.stanford.edu] looks a bit 'stalled'. Here are some more things to read,Solar Cycle Prediction for 24 [ link to solarscience.msfc.nasa.gov] . And this prediction of the 10.7cm Radio Flux/2.8GHz is quite disconcerting [ link to solarscience.msfc.nasa.gov] I'll quickly just snip out for everyone why the above is a important signpost - ' Another indicator of the level of solar activity is the flux of radio emission from the Sun at a wavelength of 10.7 cm (2.8 GHz frequency). This flux has been measured daily since 1947. It is an important indicator of solar activity because it tends to follow the changes in the solar ultraviolet that influence the Earth's upper atmosphere and ionosphere. Many models of the upper atmosphere use the 10.7 cm flux (F10.7) as input to determine atmospheric densities and satellite drag. F10.7 has been shown to follow the sunspot number quite closely and similar prediction techniques can be used' [ link to solarscience.msfc.nasa.gov] This site [ link to wso.stanford.edu] is great if you want to have a closer look at relative Fields of previous Cycles with the current Max. and preceding Min.
